Obviously I've not seen much (anything) of this lad, apart from his little cameo against Marine last season. But these words from from former coach are lovely to see!

The talent, the attitude, the ability to always turn it on. The tenacity, the aggression. When it comes to looking at that whole picture, he’s the best player in the academy. He could play for England one day.

What's not to like? @Blake Griffin how close is this lad to breaking into the first team, please?

in isolation he should be knocking on the door of the first team but conte isn't exactly known for bringing young players through so in reality the answer is probably "not very".

he is a big talent though and a complete departure from all of our other midfielders - which possibly works against him in conte's eyes. he's a player that just wants to get on the ball and make things happen. he gets goals, he creates, dribbles, breaks forward, comfortable in possession, relatively quick, fairly strong for his age, has a bit of nasty about him. i can't see any area of his game that you can point to and say he needs to overcome if he's to make it. right now the only thing that may make conte reluctant is a lack of maturity, he's not a safe player who will just stick to the basics, that means sometimes he'll lose the ball but that's only because he's trying to do something most aren't capable of.

Would like to see him get a chance but Conte isn't the manager for that sadly. He'll probably want away soon as a result.

lets hope he doesnt go the way of madueke & markanday. leaving for first team opportunities. really haven't given our youth even a sniff for the last few years. wish we could go back to when poch was brought in and he promoted 4/5 into the first team and made us all fall in love with the squad again. ( small thanks to sherwood i guess ) its thoroughly needed, i have such disdain for so many 1st teamers right now.

With a top 4 finish looking unlikely (still possible of course), it wouldn't be a problem to give a couple of the youngsters a few games. We don't want them doing a Markanday.

Thanks for that, and I'm sorry for tagging you into the discussion.

You (along with everyone else on here) are more than aware that you're priceless to those of us who can only support from afar.

So I hope you're aware that there are more than a few of us who are nothing but grateful for your info & updates about our younger generation of players.

Thank you ?

It always feels other teams manage a lot more often and easily to throw one of their talented youth players in.

At best we hear raving reports about our youth players (White, Devine, Markanday, Paskotsi, Scarlett, Cirkin, Edwards .... ) without seeing them ever on the pitch with the first teamers more than 5 minutes a game (and thats rare too).

If you are running well and have a settled first team squad like in Pochs era I think its fair to ride the senior chemistry. But its frustrating when you see the same players getting picked and picked again and continue to offer fck all to our match.
