Can anyone enlighten me on Coulithursts main attributes? I see he's scored quite a few goals for the youth sides.

Is he quick? strong? technically good?

I'm just interested as he has made the squad for the game tonight.

Thanks in advance ;)

hey mate, Spursidol replied the below to me when i asked a similar question a few pages back.

Coulthirst is only just 18 so almost certainly still growing and putting on muscle.

But at the moment think he is close to 6 foot and looks sturdy with quite good upper body strength for his age - not sure he has ever played in any 'adult' games (at least any open to the public) so its quite possible (even likely) that at his age he might struggle with the physicality at this age still (but at his current rate of advancement IMO he is likely to be loaned out next season, possibly after involvement in some of Spurs pre-season)

He's good leading the line (which is his usual position) but also as a right sided forward - can head the ball and score with either foot. Also creates chances. Hard worker, lots of movement off the ball.

Spurs supporter and sems to have his feet well on the ground. Has often captained Spurs youth sides. Usually looks to be one of the best in his age group. Overall have never heard any Spurs youth watcher say anything negative about him, only good things.

6-2 is a bit tall for a winger. If he has pace as well, try to coach him to play the Henry role. Otherwise the Zidane role. Either way if successful, we'll have a diamond on our hands.

Yeah 6'2 is a bit tall for a winger. Luckily, Bentaleb's not a winger. He's a central midfielder.

Usually plays as one of the 2 in a 4231 but can also play in the No 10 role. He's a bit of an all action midfielder; can pick out a pass precisely short or long, spring box to box, sit in the holding role etc... Definitely one of our most promising U18s at the moment..

Btw, I'm not sure he's 6'2 either? 6'0 sounds a bit more realistic.

Seen him a couple of times and it's his movement off the ball and range of passing that stood out for me. Tended to pull the strings from in front of the back 4, players like Mason taking the more advanced role.

Where does the idea that Bentelab is a left winger come from? Every time i've heard a report he's been playing centrally.

Somebody in the last page said left winger, I have only seen him play AM/CM/DM but we often do play play nearly all our players out of position to improve their overall game so maybe the poster got mistaken there

Eurosport have now put match details against alll the slots which were simply saying 'footbal' (remember I suggested we need to doubkle check later - I've been caught out before !) and NONE of the quarter finals seem to be being lshown, although the semi finals are in the schedule. The first quarterfinal is Chelsea on Sunday (see above) , so I guess its worth looking on Sunday at Europsport in case it pops up, but otherwise looks like we won't see much of the quarter finals.

That despite this announcement http://www.nextgenseries.com/News/Comments-and-Features/2013/Quarter-Final-draw. I've asked one of the Spurs socioal media guys to confirm position by Twitter

With the international break, and a 10 day break for the u 21's before their next game its a good time to look at how the u21's are doing in the Elite league. There are two objectives - firstly of course winning it, and the second is to at least finish in the top 3 which would give them a semi final place to decide the overall u 21 champions.

The table shows that after playing 8 games (albeit having played all their home gamres and only one away) of the 14 games Spurs are in top place with 19 points, 7 and 8 points clear of 2nd and third both of whom have a game ion hand on Spurs.

However 4th spot is hotly contested between West Ham, Southampton, Wolves and Arsenal. Spurs have a 10 point lead on the first of those two with 6 games to go , who have played either the same number of games as Spurs or one game more. Spurs have a 11 or 12 point lead on the third and fourth of these, although both have a game in hand on Spurs.

So unless Spurs pretty much fail to get any more points they are almost certain to finish in the top 3, thus going ointo the semi finals, and top place could be secured with winning perhaps 2 and drawing another couple of their remaining 6 fixtures

Why does only top 3 guarantee a semi birth? does the winner of the league get a bye into the final and wait to play the winner of the game between the 2nd and 3rd club?

I think the winner of the group below goes into the semis too.

The Semi finaliists are the top 3 from the Elite Group plus the winner of a play off between the top of the other two groups - advantage of topping the Elite group seems to be that they play the winner from the two bottom groups in the semi final.

Make sure you follow @CockerelCrows for updates from the @NextGenSeries match tomorrow!

So that's the NextGen match on Wednesday @ 7.pm Spurs u 19 v Sporting Lisbon u 19

Sporting Lisbon have one of the best academies iin the world - its right up there not far short of Barcelona in my judgement - boasting alumini such as Ronaldo (now Real Madrid).

This season and last season they have beaten Liverpool 3 times, very easily and by decent scores, so they will be tough opposition.

Should be a good game - not sure yet if I can get to it or not
