Cheers SI. I really appreciate your posting these. You call them excellent, and they are decent blow by blow accounts, but personally I'd like a bit more description of how the games are played out tactically and more in depth narrative relating to the coaching, the coherence collectively and individually.

I never read his reports and feel I'm any the wiser about how we are actually playing, what tactics we are using, what areas we are strong coaching wise, or about the character of the players etc. I find your assessments more useful in this respect to be honest.

You said we could have picked a stronger team, who do you think could have played ?

Can anyone who watched the game tell me how we played tactically, are we still working hard off the ball, pressing and moving etc ? was this effected by so many of our better players being unavailable ?

On a related issue, I notice Mason at least made the Lorient bench at the weekend. Small progress I guess.

Ray Lo's reports are excellent in descriibing the actual events. What he is not so good at is analysis. Best youth watcher for that is generally Windy (and giving each player a few line dewscription as to how he played) , but unfortuanately he was not at the game. I've not found any other decent match reports either.

One thing that I think we can now take for granted is that the coaching to play the Spurs way is done well at yoiuth team level is excellent, so you can take it foir granted that things like pressing, passing etc are being carried out - however in a game against the likes of Sporting I would really have liked to have heard how effective we were inn carrying these things out. Ideally I would have liked to video this game and analyse it a lot - however this was not possible.

Regarding the team - obviously there are a number of loaned out players who could have played, including Harry Kane foir example or the loaned out Alex Pritchard or Suleymane Coulibaly, all of whom would have had more experience than virtually anyoine in the Spurs team. Players not loaned out who would have brought more experience into the team incluide Giancarlo Galifuccio or one or two more Academy Year 2 players - having said that I was very happy to see the two under 16 players Nathan Oduwa and Joshua Onomah play as both look potentially to be excellent young players.

I'm thankful foir small mercies with Mason but I suspect that I am as frustrated as Mason must be on his situation and hius second loan in a row which looks to be a duff one.

Under 18's on TV !

Liverpool v Spurs U18 game tomorrow is live and free to air on LFC TV on Sky channel 429 at 1045hours

However it would not surprise me if the match were postponed due to adverse weather conditions in Liverpool. Worthwhile monitoring when the match is played though as this will be one of the few times to see Spurs u 18's on TV !

Edit :

The goals from the Next Gen game are on Spurs TV for members, we'll owe anyone who can rip them and put them somewhere else!

I'd be surprised if we let go anyone we truly wanted to keep, within certain yoof player limitations obviously.

It's very apprent that Pool's academy is total dogshit compared to ours though. Leaden footed orcs to a man, minues Sterling. Good luck to KLF, he'll likely give them an instant injection of technique and talent. Wassname - splitter who went there a few months back - has a lot of work to do. We're just seeing real benefits these last 2 or 3 yrs and we started a decade ago.

Our U-21 game tomorrow has been switched to the Hawthorns and is behind closed doors. I have asked to be allowed in to report on it but........

Looks like we may be dependent upon OS for any updates on WBA u 21's v Spurs u 21's tomorrow (always assuming weather does not call it to be called off). Ridiculouse that WBA are able to play home matches at the Hawthorns behind closed doors.

why is it ridiculous?

it's sensible if they can't generate enough funds via attendance to cover the costs - isn't it?

Its been moved from their training ground - where again it would be 'behind closed doors' , so the point is wherever WBA u 21's choose to play its closed to other teams supporters ! (and their own - maybe there are no WBA supporters ? :D:eek:)

All other teams allow supporters to view u18 and u 21 games - up tio the home team where the venue is

Seems like that nothing came of the proposed move to Swindon for Parrett, Ceballos and A.N. Other.

Does anyone know what the story is with Fredericks? Is he being converted to a right back now? Because we are short of those...

Tbh I am happy about that to be honest and it is good see them back, U suspect that Bentaleb will play as striker or the #10 role in a 4-6-0

As far as I can gather squad players are only considered for the U21s if they ask to be. If Thudd feels he needs to work up some match fitness then good for him.

Ray Lo@RayLo1828m
Team today- Miles, Fredericks, Byrne, Fryers, Hall, Huddlestone, McEvoy, Luongo, Parrett, Bentaleb, Ceballos

Subs - Dombaxe, Vigouroux, Gallifuoco, Michael-Percil.
Ray has obviously put on a false moustache or something to get into a 'behind closed doors match'

No Shaq Coulthirst - stretchered off against Sporting in the NextGenb match so assume still injured. No Munns, presume injured as he's been scoring a fair few few for the u21's. Begs the question as to where the goals will come from.
Dean Parrett probably playimg as a false no 9 (as he did againstArsenal u 21's) in a 460 formation. Luongpo captain again I think.
Fredericks playing RB again - think his real problem is that Spurs have lots of good atttacking AM's and few defenders so since he can play RB, that's where he plays sp as to play some of the many AM's that Spurs have. Fredericks can still prvide genuine width from RB posdition, although McEvoy (who can play LW and RW) also proivides width.
Byrne playing LB whilst FRyers and Hall are CB's...and then the 6 midfielders
