Spurs are also open to offers for Serge Aurier, their other senior right-back, but the Ivorian is expected to stay and compete for a starting place with Kyle Walker-Peters and Juan Foyth.

Yes given that we just sold Tripps I can see why we're unlikely to sign him. :cautious:

So we're not signing Trippier who will effectively replace Trippier, fucks wrong with my club.

What's wrong with this article is that it is saying we are going to sign Trippier when we have already just sold him. British journalism at its best at the London Evening Standard.

The full headline makes a lot more sense.
Tottenham unlikely to sign Kieran Trippier replacement as £20m departure sparks internal battle

Not sure how this is going to work, if we do shift Aurier, that leaves KWP on his own to play right back for the opening games of the season with no other cover ...

This is the interesting part of that article:

Walker-Peters, 22, has made just nine starts in the previous two seasons but Spurs turned down approaches from Crystal Palace and German club RB Leipzig this summer...

I'm sorry at @EZSpur @Shadydan which bit did you dislike of my factual post?
People are free to rate posts as they so wish without explanation but may I suggest it was the ‘if’ bit? Making the assumption that we sell Aurier after selling Trippier and then making the assumption that we replace neither, also assuming that Foyth isn’t being groomed as a right back and backup, is probably worthy of a dislike rating as it doesn’t seem like joined up thinking. We’ll come back here on August 9th and see if that’s how it pans out.

Well with Foyth missing the opening two games then (and I can understand the point you make about the 'if' part, fair do's) but 'if' Aurier is shifted we would be short for at least those two opening games. That was more my point and perhaps needed further explanation on my part.

Anyway, I'll make sure not to include 'if's' anymore so people don't get so bent out of shape over it.

forgot about Foyth missing the 2 games, also I think there was ITK saying that if Aurier goes there will be a rethink of getting someone in.
so I do think we have enough cover RB at the moment and looking forward to what happens with the Foyth situation.

Ah I missed the bit about the possibility of looking to add another on the 'if' bit, thanks for the information.

My bad mate - just a case of fat thumbs scrolling on smartphone - didn't even realise I'd 'disliked'. Wasn't intentional (y)
I just wonderd if I had it wrong was all, Dougal pointed out people can rate posts as they like and a possibility why and I would have been accepting of it, all good though (y)
