Did Pleat say Adebayor is 6'7?? No way is he

Pleat says a lot of things. Most of them make no sense at all.

He called BAE Asso-Ekootoo, then started harping on about Modric's dentist. At least Jenas wasn't there to have his name mispronounced in 22 different ways.

Pleat also referred to Reina as "Friedel" at one point. Not to mention the commentary he used to do for our UEFA Cup games, the likes of "Jane-us" and "Shimbomba" spring to mind. I don't know how the old codger is still in a job, he talks absolute shite.

He said Jee-aynus once as well, but that might have just been a cry for help.

Actually I believe that is the very reason he is still in a job, makes for entertaining viewing.

Yes he gets names woefully wrong and is confused, but he also does discuss the tactics deployed and where the game is being won. I much prefer Pleat to the current mob of Alan Smith etc who think 'Torres doesn't look himself' is in some way an insight into the game.

I don't want to hear a pundit just offer up the obvious like 'Its one way traffic at the moment'. I want to hear WHY it's one way traffic, where the game is being won and lost and what each team can do to change things. Basically I'd like to hear some 'expert opinion' from the so-called experts.

I'd agree with both those points. I do actually quite like Pleat...not least because he annoys a lot of my gooner-supporting mates. He does tend to offer more detailed views on tactics, events and players. It's just sometimes let down by him referring to the wrong team/player/incident/sport.
