Disappointed in Son today.

Poor decision making, looked leggy and did nothing to really inspire.

Not sure how we lost that!

Because our best 11 is very good but our squad is shite and can't play Ange's style of football. We need to clear out some shit in January and get some more players that can play this style of football. Son needs a player who can seriously challenge him.

Oh and the forwards need the offside rule explaining to them.

Lots of negativity obviously as losing always hurts but there’s no way we’d have lost these games with a proper squad to pick from. As we’ve known since the summer we need another few windows to get players for this system so all we can do is suck it up and get behind the team. If anyone let us down it was the board not signing another CB when it was obvious what we needed but we can do nothing about that now so let’s just pray that we don’t lose anyone else long term between now and January.
That's the big frustration. I've no doubts we would have won each of the last 3 games without these injuries.

I can understand not starting them I can't understand why they aren't getting minutes at the end when we are chasing the game. If I'm Jamie Donley doing what I am in the 21's and for England, I'm wondering if I'm ever getting the chance when Skipp is coming on in front of me when we have to score.
In isolation it was a ridiculous sub but I think it was a piece of bigger picture man management to try to keep him on side a bit. He should however have brought Donley on along with Veliz. I'd have taken Son off who was tiring.

I know this is the knee jerk thread but you can see from how we play that once we get the players that Ange needs we will be an incredibly good side. We need to get a truly clinical finisher up top and you can see why we are being linked with the Stuttgart striker with his current form.

We play some absolutely fantastic football and move the ball around brilliantly. We lost today because we missed countless chances. We should have been 4-0 up within the first 20 minutes.

Add that to the fact that the refereeing was terrible with the Gil elbow and the blatant attack on Bentancur then it was always going to be against us.

However, if I hear Gabby twat Agbonlahor try and tell anyone that Villa are a better side than Spurs then I’ll crack up. Take out Torres, Carlos, McGinn, Kamara, Douglas Luiz, Tielemans and Diaby from their side and they would be a relegation team.

Spurs are in a good place and we will reap the benefits in the end. Villa are not as good as us and time will prove it.

Bentancur coming off changed that game imo. Still I thought we were better than them in the second half as well just Villa capatlised on a couple of break aways. We just lack so much agility and athleticism in the team when PEH comes

Performance was fine in creating chances. There's no reliable finisher other than Son to put them away unfortunately. If he has an off day we're struggling.

The failure to give us a blatant pen and nailed on opposition red card is though. So is that utter shit Matty Cash kicking Bentancur off the pitch then surviving a very bookable second challenge. So it hitting the inside of the post twice. None of the offsides were that close and at two were avoidable, but everything else has been bad luck
@Trix your absolutely childish habit of putting funny ratings on things you disagree with really is a bit pathetic. What exactly is funny about my comment, or what do you even disagree with? You think it was lucky VAR missed the elbow, or that Bentancur got injured?

The Skipp sub was totally baffling. Why?! What message does that send to the likes on Donley, a creative threat much needed at that point.

Gio was blowing and presumably Ange wanted to preserve him for what will be a testing December fixture list - especially in light of Bentancur's injury today.

Skipp may well be moved on in January who knows but as we still had Johnson, Deki and Johnson on the pitch, it was very unlikely Donley was being brought on at that point.

I think Ange needs to realise, our youth will have to be used sooner rather than later, even looking at the bench we were 1 player short & named 2 subs.

We have to start integrating them more.
