In November Everton lost 3 out of 4 matches. Form can dip and luck can change.
The Pen and OG could have Been avoided-we made mistakes -it wasn't LCs brilliance that lost US this match.
LC should have been down to 10 before half time (vicious tackle on Kane)-why wasn't VAR used?

Stoke couldn't come at a better time to aid our recovery. Lose this - not sure there would be any positives left.

Lets not forget how wonderful Arsenal are doing.

Agreed.

It's funny how things change before last weekend I had received no shitty texts from gooner or spammers.
But yesterday evening it started with the usual spurs have bottled it, gone all spursy again etc and all coming from fan's of these clubs.

I'm normally optimistic, but that was pathectic today.

Can accept the draw at Palace, where they battled admirably, can accept the defeat at Liverpool which we battled admirably - but lost, but that today was fucking bolllox from the first minute.

Probably only the second time this season out of 14 games, not bad considering we played like this most weeks in the last couple of seasons. Definitely was a write off but the game was in the balance when Serge did his madness and whatever our gameplan was was killed when Gio's hammy went 2 mins into the second half (although why Jose chose Moura over WInks is a fair question). Leicester are no mugs either and it looked like a hard run of fixtures has caught up with us.

Just trying to be balanced this morning after being so low yesterday, I needed Spurs to cheer me up after the Tier 4 news and they let me down massively. To then drop out of the top 4 was salt in the wound.

Stoke and Wolves are must-win now. I just hope the lads have some gas in the tank. A good Xmas run will make things a lot rosier, as this weekend has shown stringing 2-3 wins together puts you in a great position, it's more like the Championship currently.

Isn't that what he had with his Chelsea teams?

Once again a narrative that doesn't fit the fact of the past ... Could be more to do with the players at his disposal and the trust in what he asks those players to do with and without the ball - maybe?

Still think in Lo Celso and Ndombele you have similar footballers - the thinking behind the purchase of both when we clearly wanted to look for a ten baffles me and seems to keep passing fans by ... (imo)

Agree with this and I think its why he never plays them together. Also telling that in the 2 games they have started together this season we have been pretty poor.

I still don't think he wants Ndombele long term. He definitely doesn't want Sissoko or Winks but until he can get replacements he has to make use of them the best he can.

Same at CB. I dont believe he wants to play Toby and Dier together but its the best partnership he has at the moment. I think Rodon will be partnering one of them before the end of the season.

Aurier he definitely doesn't want. I think Doherty has been underwhelming thus far but we needed competition for the place. Seemed to have worked but the brain farts were back yesterday.

Don't worry everyone - we were the better team today according to Jose so it's all good.

“Aurier assisted Vardy for the first goal and our own player Alderweireld scored their second. They couldn’t have won without our help. We were clearly the better team and the better team lost.”
Jose for president - that’s straight out of Trumps book.

We were out fought by a decent side, however what baffles me about our side is our mentality. Kane gets booted in the stomach by their player and there is no VAR to review. Could you imagine if that was Salah, Henderson, Fernandez or a chelsea player they would have hounded the ref until he had no option but to review VAR. Also I don't get how teams are constantly allowed to get away with niggling tackles that lead to a consequence. Liverpool did it in most of our game with us as did Palace & Leicester, we just seem to be to nice. While I cannot excuse Serge for his brainfart why did the game run on over the time. Time was up when we attacked so why did the ref not blow. When Leicester got their second why did we not make more of the tackle/foul on Kane leading up to it, again we are to soft. Watch other teams they hound the ref we just accept everything and get on with it. Jose is right some get away with it but we don't.

AGREE 100% how can a player on the floor be allowed to kick someone in the stomach, nowhere near trying to play the ball and only get a yellow.

That being said we seem to struggle mightily against a back 3.. maybe go liek for like against them? That would free up regi and Doherty and we don't have to bother abt rwf while shoehorning both gio and ndombadboi

I didn't watch the game but obviously Aurier didn't impress many people, I wonder if the lack of Bergwijn had anything to do with this.
Stevie has been the hardest working player on the park for weeks and I lost count of how many times he was back supporting his full backs.

This was the first time since the season start that our first choice team have played three games in a week, and hard games at that. Previously we have made 8 or 9 changes for the Europa . Of course an odd first choice player has come on for a half or 30 mins but mainly they have avoided most of the midweek games.
We were lethargic yesterday to say the least. Usually we improve in the second half but it didn’t really happen.
Having said that they didn’t create much although Eric did his best to cock things up.
Dele should now get the chance to stake a claim on wed .
