It's not been a very good game so far. Uninspired from both sides. We've been the better side in possession, but we can't create chances. Everything breaks down with the attacking pass, which is what we've been watching for the past 2-3 months: lots of possession and good approach play, ending in a sloppy pass or putting the ball into touch.

The penalty was a penalty,100%. I don't know what Sissoko was pointing at, but you can't block the ball with your arm in that position [Hoddle has just disagreed]. What is it with the constant concession of early goals? This summer, Pochettino has to deal with the concentration issues that must be causing this, because it's too many instances, in all competitions, for it to be coincidence. It cost us quite a few points in the league, as well as making the CL campaign thus far an epic of brinksmanship.

It's our most creative and incisive players who are booting the ball and passing to the opposition: Alli, Eriksen and especially Son. It's causing all our intended attacks to peter out before they become attacks. Of course, trying to create attacks against Virgil Van Dijk is another issue: the man is impassable.

We've defended well, hand-ball aside, but Liverpool have been off-colour and haven't had all that much of the ball. They've had a lot of corners, which we've dealt with well so far.

The second half needs more inspiration from both sides. Preferably from us.
Said to the guys at work we'd definitely concede in the first ten. But I was thinking minutes.

The thing is, for all the doom mongering going on, Liverpoo/Klopp will be happy with their half of footy & just think more of the same will see them winning.

But Poch won't be happy & we all know what this team is capable of when it's up against it.

Believe.
I believe!

we can definitely win this. We've been the better side tho Pool are content to defend after being given that pen.

Just watched the replay. Sissoko was pointing and Mane saw and deliberately kicked the ball towards his hand, where Sissoko tried to bring his hand down trapping the ball between upper arm and chest. Call it clever or poor sportsmanship but it was a penalty all day long. Somehow the goal had an adverse affect on me in that it has somehow calmed me down

I hope all we do in preseason is work at shooting the ball in defenders chest/hands from 2 yards.

Free penalties from a completely harmless position sure beats having to try and create chances against packed defenses

Good News:
Only 1-0. We’ve shaded the first 45 (apart from the pen). We’ve got a strong bench. We’ve been strong in second halves in CL recently. Not many people playing well on their side!

Bad News:
Kane, Son and Alli not playing well. Liverpool will probably get better. Fans a bit quiet. We’ve not troubled them too much.

Fingers crossed for 2nd half!

Yup can’t understand the moaning. His arm is up in the air. The new rule is pretty clear on that.

yep, the ref thought so, VR thought so, the ref on BT sport thinks so. I don't know what people on here know that these officials don't about the laws of the game
