Why wasn't the Ndombele one checked up the other end? Why wasn't a freekick awarded retrospectively against joelinton for jumping into hojberg? Why wasn't a freekick awarded for Dier being pushed? Why the fuck was that a penalty? How can the refs/VAR be so fucking wrong? It's borderline criminal.
Maybe our players should be asking/harassing the ref like Carrol was as soon as he came on

Nonsense. 1-0 is enough to win any game. It’s not the teams fault that the rules are wrong.
The best way I can sum it up so that people understand is that I had a horrible feeling that we'd get sucker punched, not by Newcastle, they were shit. I had a horrible feeling that they'd be a bad decision.

As a fan, player, coach or whoever, you should NOT go into a game of football feeling like that.

Do we know when Son injured his hammy? I'm desperately hoping it wasn't early in the 1st half and he just played through it...

Could a rule be changed mid season? I reckon itll be gone for next season but until then theres going to be more of this shit...for and against us im sure!
My understanding is IFAB aren’t scheduled to meet until early next year, so that’s likely to be the soonest it can be addressed.

I've hated the handball rule since the CL final, I'm still not over that. Whatever happened to "ball to hand"... Seriously done with this game because what is the actual point.

The clowns in charge are getting an easy ride at the moment, can you imagine that happening with 60,000 fans screaming blue murder week after week after week?

If they want to do something about clubs get together and agree that if pens like this is awarded. Managers agree and Roll the ball to the keeper. Sportmanship. This will change the rule soon enough after that. The clubs have to step above this shit.
It'll take a brave team decision to enact that - especially if it directly impacts on changing a win to a draw, draw/defeat etc.

It could have been 6-0 at half time . We played well except maybe 20 mins . And if free kicks / penalties are awarded for hitting an arm they should have had another penalty and us another 2?

Seems it was the GK coach sent off: Mourinho says his GK coach was 'naive' for getting sent off after the final whistle & not following him down the tunnel. "At some clubs, even after the last whistle, it's possible for something important to happen, but for us I knew that after the last whistle it was over."

The current handball rule was not in place in the CL final. In fact it was the inconsistency of decisions that promoted the rule change.

If players started refusing to take the penalty / purposefully missing them that were given in these circumstances, then maybe they'll have to start looking at it immediately.

But we all know that isn't going to happen.

All very well saying "if it goes your way, you take it" but until there is a unity between everyone that the rule is an absolute disgrace, nothing will change.
Gk can refuse to be in the goal though

A lot of positives. I thought that was amongst the best we have played under the current manager.
need to see a lot from the fringe players this midweek. Looking at Reg, Toby, Moussa, Stevie B, Coco etc
Am not going to talk about the penalty decision.

I don't usually keyboard warrior, but this is an exceptionally moronic post. The fact we didn't take our chances is annoying. But Newcastle did not lay a glove on us - they scored as a result of possibly the most injudicious law/rule in all of sports. To have a dig a Dier just shows you have an agenda.

Stop being a pompous plum.

Like I give a damn what you or anyone else on here thinks. Season ticket holder for almost 20 years so I'll trust my opinion over 99% of the posters on this site.

This thread is a joke. Bitching and moaning over a fucking rule. Typical.

Yeah, it's a dreadful rule but it was there before the game and it'll be there after the game. Lazy to point your finger at the referee, the one thing that Spurs can't control or influence.

Fact is, we had almost 20 shots on goal and scored once. We couldn't deal with has-been Andy Carroll. Dier missed an open header on goal - and fact is he's a complete liability every single game. Those are the things that Spurs can control.

But yeah, this thread is full of "fans" who want to cry into their pint over a rule and hit the spam button on any post that doesn't fit with their view. Thankfully most of those "fans" never go to a game....

Referees should get together themselves to try and sort this shit out, if me or my workmates were fucking up on a project we'd get together to try and find solutions etc or at least awknowledge the issues at hand!

Yeah but in that scenario we would still have won

I’m (fairly) sure you’re joking but I’ll bite anyway.

It doesn’t matter the score line, competition or even the teams involved (even Arsenal) -the game is in serious, serious trouble until these pricks laughably in charge of football agree they’ve made a huge mistake. And now, not wait until the summer of rule changes.
