Fucking Bingo!!

We need to see players being used more specific to the needs of the game. Sissoko is great running into space, not against a packed defence. He’s fantastic for a number of things but him and Winks in central midfield was completely pointless today

Yeah, exactly. Part of me hopes we put that team out there because of what we have available due to injuries (Dele, Ndombele) and players still getting up to match fitness (Lo Celso). But, there's absolutely no excuse for not starting Eriksen but naming him on the bench. Lamela, Son, Moura and Kane are all "much of a muchness" in attack. They are direct players who, apart from rare occasions, offer very little incisiveness/creativity in the buildup.

Honestly, I mentioned it elsewhere, but this was a perfect match for Eric Dier in midfield with Vertonghen and Toby at CB. Those runs forward by Vertonghen to overload the middle/left in attack with Son/Rose with Dier covering the space left behind by Vertonghen could have been what we needed. Have Dier sit in the middle of pitch, utilize an Eriksen or Lo Celso next to him and I feel it would have been enough.

Dier obviously has his shortcomings, but he's plenty capable of playing what Winks is failing to do right now (sitting deep, distributing and trying to break up counter attacks with solid positioning).

Long story short, it's horses for courses. Pochettino is sticking with the same players, despite the opposition, and it's why sometimes it's coming off, other times it's not. We do have squad depth now, and he's got to learn how to maximize it.

Something went wrong maybe between him and the players since the Burnley game. The preformance in that game was shocking.

I actually haven’t seen us play that bad since the darkness that was AVB and Sherwood. Only thing that makes it worse is that I don’t expect it as much now

Serious question, has Poch actually grown a monster of an ego that is now devouring him? Nothing he seems to say (to the press) or do (regarding the team) seems to make any sense anymore, or has he just gone stark raving bonkers?!!!

This is exactly it.

Which is fine until you start losing every other game and blaming everything but yourself.

Get back to basics stop thinking you are the Messiah

15 points from 15 games wow. We have one of the best 3 squads in the league as well, yet the players look clueless.

Is Poch's mind gone? We really need to take a hard look on how we operate cause 15 games is not just "bad form".

Thing is, I’m not sure we do have one of the three best squads.

Right fullback situation is atrocious

Think I might put a bet on next week that we will make 485 passes in our own half and yet barely a forward pass or shot in anger absolute joke how hard can it be to coach quick football.

If you don't play your best players, what do you expect? Like a surgeon being given all the tools and choosing to operate with a spoon

Next week will be a completely different game, we only suffer like this when teams play this way against us and there's no way Arsenal are turning up like that.

For what it’s worth
Newcastle were well organised and we lacked creativity to break them down - this is even more of a problem when we concede soft early goal
Without Eriksen we lack creativity badly
Winks is a neat tidy continuity player but lacks a USP - no real pace, incisive passing etc - he is not a holding midfield player- we are defensively exposed with him in that role - we really miss the security he provides for defence particularly as our full backs push so far up the field
KWP is not good enough - defensively weak - lacks height and physical presence- reluctant to attempt to take on defenders
Danny Rose crossing is poor
Lamela works really hard but does not deliver ball quickly enough
Son and Moura really struggle when lack of space due to packed defence
All a bit depressing today

What I would give for a bit of Liverpool's dynamism and positivity in possession. Genuinely think we have the players to compete but we just don't even try and put teams to the sword.

The squads are not as far apart as people make out, and as @panoma just said, we've probably got the next best squad in the league. I'm starting to come the conclusion that maybe it's the squad that has got Poch this far and not the other way around.

As for his ego. I think you're bang on @shelfmonkey
