Tickets booked for the 23rd. Looking forward to seeing Spurs play under Poch and see Defoe play against us. Expecting a massacre but should still be interesting to get a glimpse of the playing style Poch has in mind for us.

It's ok, I hope spurs have improved with new management so maybe not a massacre! ;)

Toronto FC are at best around the same level as West Ham so don't see Spurs not smashing them

new manager, new tactics, players coming back from injury....expect a fair bit of substitutions etc - probably a draw

Yeah but Bradley has been remarkably shit for the past few months. Going back to MLS hasnt been good for him or the US.

And Toronto, albeit a good MLS team, are not close to being as good as a PL side. No clubs are. MLS as a whole is league 1/championship at best. Its a league where a 50% donovan lights up. Telling.

The last thing I want to do is talk up West Ham, but in all seriousness, are any MLS teams really at premierleague standard?

Not really. L.A. would have been the closest a few years ago when we sold them Robbie and they already had Beckham and Landon Donovan. They were bottom end PL standard.

Being from Toronto too, I'll be at the game. For anyone coming over there are only 2 things you really need to know.

1) There are tons of pubs and bars downtown but if you want to hang out with fellow Spurs supporters either pre-match or post-match then the official Spurs Canada supporters club is at a large pub called Scallywags. The pub is on the #1/Yellow Line subway (tube) at a station called St. Clair. The station exits are on the northeast and southeast corner of Yonge Street. Simply walk across Yonge Street to the southwest corner and you're there.

2) By far the easiest way to get to the ground is the Go Train (our version of the London Overground) that leaves from Union Station. It is the first stop westbound on the Lakeshore Line called Exhibition and takes 8 or 9 minutes from Union. The Exhibition station itself is maybe 150 yards from the north end of BMO Field. Very easy and simple to get to. There are also trams and buses that run to the ground but don't waste your time with that.

Have fun! Oh and one more thing I forgot to mention.....over here you CAN bring your pints (2 per person at a time) to your seat so don't stand in the concourse chugging your pint. Friendly locals will look at you in an odd way!

No MLS team has ever been close to being EPL quality. The best of MLS would be mid table Championship sides.

That being said the league is slowly progressing in quality. Once the overhaul of US youth football begins to take affect, and the American talent improves, the league will do much better.

Forgive me for saying so, but Toronto is not a good MLS team. It is actually a completely shit MLS team; the worst in the league last season and not a lot better this time (only just beating the Whitecaps youth team over two legs in the canadian championship).

Seattle, on the other hand, is one of the best and next saturday will be really interesting. Got my tickets and the road trip starts friday.

Opposition defences haven't worked out how to play against Defoe yet, so that won't last. On the other hand, yeah, you're right. They'll be MLS champions this year and Defoe will succeed Ronaldo as world player of the year. Obvious, isn't it?
