Aside from the implosion, we were also robbed by two decisions at the end. It should have been a penalty on Bale, his late chance, blatantly being pushed whilst shooting. Then obstruction on Winks trying to make the block on their winner. Both pretty clear cut for me, but no decision or VAR review.

Gutted.

But for some very marginal decisions/events, we'd have had 6 points from Newcastle and West Ham and be sitting pretty now.
It's all very easy to cherry-pick moments that went against us, we could have also easily gone 2-0 down at Southampton or had Lamela sent off at Man Utd.

The fact that we've gone from cruising 3-0 up to blaming the referee shows there are major frailties in this team.

Is it me or is football going all American sporty like basketball - gearing up for last minute excitement. There seems to be a lot of matches where winning/equalising goals, ref decision contribution or VAR decisions are happening on a regular basis in the 90+ minute.
Just a thought-football is changing.
its the 2020 craziness if you ask me. seeing the same sort of random goofiness in all the sports over here, too.

Conceding a late freekick and a worldie is kind of understandable but Sanchez's own goal was pure panic and shows his lack mentality for the level we need. Saying that both late free kicks came from Auriers side so Sanchez isn't the only one.

I think it’s a mentality thing with a couple of players that we have no choice in playing. It’s not a team mentality that’s the problem. We have mentality issues in defence because they aren’t good enough and they can’t step up. Harry steps up, Son steps up, Ndombele steps up, Hojbjerg steps up. Reguilon steps up, these are winners and because of them we are 3-0 up in 20 mins. Toby is gone and Davinson can’t cope, Sisokko isn’t tactically aware, Aurier is too full blooded, winks just can’t do anything right, these are the issues. This is still Jose first season, I’m guessing by next season the players I just mentioned won’t be here. Play Doherty, Lo Celso and Bale and Dier when they are fit in a couple of weeks and we don’t give it up like we did today. Not forgetting Eric too

Doherty is supposedly not the best defender. Better at attacking much like Trippier.

I wish he would have stepped up when they ran riot over our midfield. thats what he's paid to do.

My Dad was 18 when we last won the league. He's now 78. I said " I don't think you're going to see us win another title in your lifetime", He replied "At least I saw them win 2, I don't think you'll ever see Spurs win one" (I'm 54). Then my boy said " I don't think I will either". He's 14 :ROFLMAO:

Jeez. Cheery bunch at your place ?

It wasn’t a free kick just the usual bullshit with referees snodgrass stepped across aurier and just fell forward refs give those all the time for some ridiculous reason they never learn or even seem to review them these days it’s just ‘part of the game’ irrespective of that winks had the chance to clear and that would of been that and erm I don’t even wanna get started on 4 minutes lol

The players looked tired throughout the game despite being 3 nil up I always felt we were labouring a little. Yes we should have won, even at 3-2 - they go onto score a blinder which he (not naming any WHU player) will not score again in his life. Jammy bugger.

The other premier league top6 defences includes likes of Maguire, Bailly, Lindelof, Zouma, David Luiz or Rob Holding. He isn't worse than them and most of them already made much worse mistakes this season than Davinson.

Winks is good enough to be our backup midfielder and us losing points isn't because of Winks.
They were good enough to be important part of our team with top4/title aspirations for last 3 or 4 years and it didn't change.

he isn’t. And wasn’t.

we didn’t win jack with him in the team and we that will continue as long as he plays a part (I mean Winks).

he’s a great kid, loves spurs, home grown and a cheeky smile. But he’s very limited as a footballer.

Still looking better than last year-up on points against the same teams and loads of games to go where we can only get better. Europe is on the horizon and Jose will want to do well and a domestic trophy in the last 8. COYS

Think if this result happened before the transfer window we would have paid inter the asking price

That isn’t his mentality! It’s his technique and body positioning.
He should have been looking to meet that ball square on and head it back where it came from.
Not sure what he was doing.
He is pretty error prone all round. He was singled out on comms as our weakest player, in that awesome first half.

He may have a weak mentality and it will undoubtedly be effected by his performances but for most it’s a lack of top end talent that lets them down.
I don’t think we were mentally weak today.
Just more individual errors

Yeah it's like Sanchez concedes an OG every week.

Let's see if Toby and dier are any better together at the back... Oh wait mourinho doesn't think so which is why they haven't played together since the shocking opening day defeat to Everton.
He scored an own goal and a shit game today. He gave away the stupidest foul for a penalty v United. How can you protect this guy? :ROFLMAO:

Regardless of how soft the call was, Aurier took a massive risk by trying to possess the ball in such a dangerous area with only a minute left in the game. If he's going to take that risk he's got to get his touch right, but instead it was a patented loose touch which allowed Snodgrass to step across and con the ref into blowing the whistle. Aurier needed to either make a clearance or actually fucking possess the ball. Notwithstanding the soft free kick, Aurier's lack of concentration is what truly cost us (yet again).

It sucked. And it should also be objectively seen as a freak, lucky result for West Ham. Moyes can dance a jig all he wants, but if his team plays like that all season, they will be battling relegation. They had so many breaks in the last 15 mins go their way. Kane hits the post. Bale misses a sitter. Soft free kicks lead to stupid goals. Dav scores a blinder of an OG. And if not for Winks having a whopping brain fart and trying to dribble out of his area instead of hoofing it, the ball doesn’t fall to Lanzini and he doesn’t score the best goal of his life. Oh, and you have to mention that yes, Aurier was an idiot, yet again... but my, oh my, that ref was always eager to give them that foul. Aurier just doesn’t get it. In that situation he lost the ball. Big deal. Don’t compound the error by jumping in thoughtlessly. Of course snotgrass was gonna act like he’d been shot as soon as Aurier was within an inch of him.

That is a whole lotta luck. But should be a lesson learned for the same bunch of morons about being naive. It has to stop.

maybe Jose should consider moving to three at the back, see if that helps. I dunno. Just hope the players can shake it off quickly. And make sure that doesn’t happen again all season.
