I believe this puts some perspective on our achievements this season. Very encouraging in my opinion, let's hope the future is bright.

It's the Top 6 teams in Europe's Top 4 leagues (although we know that we have the youngest team in the PL) but obviously it's incredibly encouraging :)

And there is as much age difference between us and Lyon directly above as there is between Lyon and Bayern 12 places above them. Though there are clearly a lot of teams in between all of that. Its pretty damning for our so-called 'senior' players.

Massively exciting, but we need some experienced leadership in the group. We could really use an experienced leader in CM, IMO.

Oh fuck, here i go dreaming about Pirlo or Xavi again:cry:

It shows that we should be targeting some older players to help develop this squad and make it successful now otherwise they will fuck off as soon as they get older and we aren't competitive

It will never happen but we should be going for someone like Milner and probably an experienced striker to come in with the striker we are probably going to sign

All well and good if we see genuine improvement over the next couple of seasons points wise and where we finish in league. If not then to be honest couldn't care less if we had an average squad age of 30. I want to see us do well, whether that's with a youth player or a foreign mid 20s signing. Makes no difference to me.

The issue is they aren't in our squad are they. We need someone who is a good influence and still good on the pitch, which is where Paulinho, Adebayor, Kaboom, Soldado and etc are failing

Will be good to let whatever age group we play to know that letting your foot off the gas before the season is over is not on. We heard a lot about the hunger of these youngsters but if they slip into the bad habits of previous Spurs teams then their age will mean nothing.

I don't know how to take this. One on hand it's nice to see us giving the kids a chance, but on the other it isn't really indicative of anything. The clubs doing the best seem to be the ones nearer the middle third of the table, so is that a good thing for us? Make me think that we need some older, experienced heads in the squad.

Also, this is a bit of a vague cross section, seeing as how it has just 4 leagues.

So we won the youthing then?

It's a nice stat but fairly irrelevant if they dont all step up or, in turn, all leave before their peak (altho the latter at least means money). F365 were taking the piss out of Liverpool fans going on about the age of their team this morning and i tend to agree.

Interesting, sure, but should be a pointer that we need more experience, not something to necessarily celebrate out of context

ultimately it will probably mean nothing as spurs fans won't have the patience to allow the club to see it through.
