Whilst people have talked about Tom Bloxham (MF) who has been with the recent England U16's there was also another Spurs youngster with him, Billy Heaps. As far as i can gather he is also a midfielder and like Bloxham he is from Stevenage. Does anyone else have information on him?

Never heard of this lad. Is he with the U16's? What position does he play?

Edit: Just did a bit of googling. From the little I have found he's possibly a central defender. Could be completely wrong though.

He was no.8 for the recent England game but ye it's not clear. Probably a Skipp type then.

Sounds like a good addition to an already strong year group. Almost like the 99s to our 00s.

I think that's 7 players either called up to camps or featured for the age group in total and that doesn't include Piesold who I've mentioned before.

Ha ha. Know these guys are U16, but do we have a strict size limit on our youth midfielders? Carroll, Winks, White, Skipp, etc. a cavalcade of shrimps.

The only one there id consider small, as in slight, would be Carroll, but ye we do have a few small kids.

We have plenty of big/normal sized players, Donley, McKnight, Mathurin, Scarlett, Dorrington

Of course. Its the reason I dont like him at LB prefer him to be a ball playing CB.

BBW is also big but more stocky as was Forson relative to their age groups when they were younger.

I watched an interview with Madueke a while back. It seems he was pretty set on going to the continent. I think this is a more of an endemic problem for all PL clubs, not really a Spurs issue. He cited Sancho a lot in the interview and basically said he's a role model for the younger age groups. It's more a function of the grossly inflated economics and subsequent consevativism of the Premier League than a Mauricio Pochettino problem. Wenger has been speaking about this issue extensively recently.

This is what I had said a lot at the time. All clubs waste their talent but they can then splash money on transfers. We needed a different approach as we couldn't match their spending and people believed Poch was different to other managers when in fact he was exactly the same. Raising this point seemed to irk people.

I'm happy to see him doing well. I haven't been super impressed with him aesthetically to be honest. He's certainly not a Sancho or Bellingham level talent to my eyes. But he's clearly reaping the benefits of being in an environment where they play youth. I'm sure all the agents will be advising their more promising young clients to do something similar now. How Brexit affects this trend will be interesting to see.

Tbh I think once you reach a certain level of talent you're starting to split hairs. All of the players have the potential to be top quality players, and stuff like, form, confidence
injuries, changes in management will seperate who becomes world class v who become very good.

I had posted around 5 years ago now that Madueke, along with Thorpe, was given the highest grade, when taking into account ability and potential. This all while Skipp, Kirby and TOB were still u16s and rhe best about. He may not look very silky I get that but im confident there some coaches out there, especially at our club, who think he has what it takes to really go to the top and is that level.

While I was very disappointed with the way things turned out with Poch, the one thing I could not understand was the way he handled KWP.
Didn't make any sense to me at the time, particularly with his (Poch's) own early success at the club with Kane, Mason, Townsend etc. This article about KWP confirms Poch and Jose (though less of a surprise there) mucked up big time: https://www.footballfancast.com/sou...rs-southampton-fulham-saints-ralph-hasenhuttl
