this youth team is utter trash isn't it? and our 21s

and people wonder why our players cant get game time on loan? THEY AINT FUCKING GOOD ENOUGH!

its the same thing every year in the Youth Cup

Isn't this the age group that we had quite a few of our top 15/16 year olds pilfered from a couple of years or so back or am I imagining that?

Still high hopes for a couple of them isn't there?! Jamie Donley for instance... ?

yeah Donley is about the only one in that squad tonight I have any hopes for tbh and even then I feel he'll end up as a decent championship striker.

we have training facilities QPR can only dream of and many England internationals but we always struggle in these comps. maybe we should develop the Chelsea and City approach of emphasising winning as early as possible.

our last FA Youth Cup final was 1994/5 whereas Chelsea have been in 10 of the last 15 finals.

True, but Chelsea youth was Abramovich's big money laundering scheme wasn't it?

Not covered by FFP, yet could offer more money and extras to parents and players.

Nice head start for them, great way to balance the clubs books in the future.

Built in one of the most expensive place's in England with routes to all the top schools etc as required etc.

They've clearly managed to find consistency in coaching staff as well, while our's have nearly always been pinched at the moment of slight excitement and success - usually towards more prestigious roles either at top teams or full managerial roles in lower leagues.

Mikey Moore played 90 mins for England U16 yesterday as they beat Turkey 3-0 at St Georges Park.

Not sure I have ever felt more depressed about the state of youth football at the club. I don’t doubt that there are talented lads at the club, and for those who are absolutely outstanding a path may be found. But there seems to be zero belief in youth development as a project. And that is translating to zero belief on the pitch. Maybe in part it stems from the top with Conte’s lack of interest. But the rot seems to have crept in earlier, perhaps as far back as Sherwood’s departure. At any rate Paratici needs to sort it out. The Sherwood role needs to be filled, and while I’m not necessarily blaming the coaches, a personnel refresh is called for to buck things up.

In the second game of a double header Mikey Moore scored one goal for England U16 in a 4-0 win against Turkey

Congratulations to former academy player, Jez Davies who has signed a professional contract with Burnley.

He joins Renaldo Torraj in joining the Clarets following release from Spurs.

Yeah, probably right. Harvey deserves another loan as well. Weird how they're handling his development. Do Norwich need a CM?
Not sure Harvey white has shown enough to go to Norwich. They might take him on a permanent but loan he's probably looking at League 1.

He did well on loan in League 1 two seasons ago. If after spending the last twelve months training day in day out with our first team he isn’t ready to step up a level it doesn’t say much for Conte’s coaching team.

I wouldn't say he did well, he made 5 starts in 26 games. That isn't going to justify a move up a league.

He started 5 games in league 1. He didn't establish him at the level at all even though he did gain experience and show potential. For me white is likely to peak as a championship player but you never know. I think if we were to sell him a championship club will snap him up no problems. If we want to loan him then I find it unlikely.

I think Markanday was a bigger talent than white and Markanday is struggling for minutes at Blackburn. He has been unlucky with injuries, but the point is most of our very top talents will finish as championship players, some of those top talents will make it to the PL. Most of our mid-good talents will player somewhere between league 1 and non league.

It's very hard to reach the top. Expectations are often overly high.
