Dante Cassanova appears to be on the road to recovery after his long-term injury. Was with the U21s on Friday at Everton despite not being named amongst the 5 subs.

Just a reminder, please don't post copyright images, but that's great news he is back with the squad

Is this a belief that he might be good enough one day or just a tactic to get a fee for him?

I doubt it's either. You need at least 4 pro GK's at the club at least. Quality GK's are an important part of training. It's pretty common for clubs to keep a 3rd or 4th choice GK around for years, without them seeing any first team football. He's 24 and had a couple of loans to a club in Sweden and that's it. I doubt there are many clubs lining up to pay money for him. He'll probably get better money staying with us than he would playing down the football league ladder, enjoys working at the club and is from the Tottenham area. The coaches probably find him to be a very reliable training ground keeper, who is professional and well liked.

It’s interesting. Could he spend an entire career as a reserve keeper and never play a high level game? Why not. If he feels he’s contributing to the success of spurs as almost a coaching role and paid well enough it may be enough. Basically a job rather than a career as a professional footballer. It may keep him employed until he’s 35/40 then a switch into coaching and he’s still probably done better than most of us in office jobs etc financially. Not really the dream football career but a career none the less

How good is Moore? I read an article on him recently saying he was someone really special.
Ive watched him twice so not a lot. But he kbviously has something special and is young. But bery raw as you'd expect and a lot of growing to do, both phiscially and in his understanding of the game. The fact he is already one of the best players in the u18s really says something but he needs to keep his head down.

Could go a number of ways. When watching him nothing told me that he is destined to make it to the top level but nothing shows otherwise too. I didnt realise how young he was when I watched him. And my impression was talented but needs a bit more personality and do more for the team. Now knowinf how young he is its clear he is a top talent but also my criticism remains, so how he develops will be crucial.

He's played first team football on his loans. But yes, you'd think he would want to go be first choice at Millwall etc. But perhaps not

And there is always the possibility of playing first team football in cups etc, just like the 4th choice Karius who is now in line to start the league cup final on Sunday.
I just hope he doesn’t have a howler, I remember Watford having to pull in Gary Plumley against us in ‘87 at Villa Park in the semi final (one of my first games) and although he wasn’t particularly at fault for any of our goals looking back you could see the lack of confidence the team had in him, which really doesn’t help a keeper.

The session musicians of football…
A good point though - hadn’t really thought about it that way before.

I’m not making a direct comparison obviously but perhaps Alfie is just beginning to show real improvement in training as he matures and he is seen as a first team candidate like, erm, Emmy Martinez when he was at arsenal? He was there for a very long time, loaned out many times and then became first choice due to injuries. The rest is history.

Hopefully but Martinez had a league two loan, 2x championship loans and made 4 appearances in the PL by the time he was 23. Whiteman is 24 and has only had 1 loan in to a team in Sweden.
