Squad Pages

Just noticed that the squad pages have been tidied up - and the following players seem to have been released;

Jonathan Woodgate
Oscar Jansson
Zaine Francis Angol (Apparently gone to Motherwell)
Olumide Durojaiye

So Woodgate is officially gone, Jansson surprised me. Pletikosa and O'Hara have been removed. I think that's all. Livermore, Alnwick, Obika, Smith, Mason and anyone else who were rumoured to be mulling over contract extensions must have signed. So the real news is Jansson is gone.

As far as I was aware, he was technically out of contract, but still training with the club and considering our offer of a new deal.

Between him and Ranieri, can't help but think neither of them has a bat in hell's chance of making the squad.

Alnwick is like a door-to-door Jehovah's Witness. Fairly harmless until you realise they're there.

Anyone know what is happening with Massimo Luongo - he was a regular for the Spurs XI all last season but the squad pages have never acknowledged him.

I can only guess that he was not old enough to be a 'Professional' and had not come up through the Academy so there was not a suitable place for him ! But I do not understand his status.

There was an interview floating round the internet taken by an Australian tv crew when he was at an Austrailan training camp earlier this year (March ?) where he said how much he was enjoying Spurs, was expecting to renew his contract and expected to be out on loan next season (ie 2011/12) so I guess he will be on the Professionals page when that is updated (which it will be to move Kane amd other second years to it) - with dob 25/9/92 he is only 18.

Squad pages now updated for Professionals and new First Year Academy.

Only surprise amongst the 'Professionals' is that Massimo Luongo does not appear - and not on any other page either - an elusive man !

There is not a page as yet for the 3rd Year Academy (Miles and McBride per Player Update from 7 July). (Edit - they now appear on the second year Academy page - updated after I saw it first ? )

There are a record 15 players in the First Year Academy, of which about 10 have either appeared for the Under 18's in the past year or appeared in initial or final Tournament Squads. I guess we will see the others for the first time in the Milk Cup held at the end of the month in Northern Ireland.

Funny you should say that, because Luongo's been added to the 'Professionals' page now. It's been since Ceballos signed though, so now I'm wondering why Ceballos doesn't have a page yet! Haha.

it can take them ages to get pages up for players.

We would need to get all the info, photos ect and then pass them onto the company that runs the website and then they add the page.

Shouldn't take as long as it does, but its always a slow process for us

I agree with you in principle - but the Massimo Luongo page has no picture or other detail - what I would call a holding page (just as none of the First Year Academy players pages have pictures or other details on yet) ! So it seems as if they just forgot ! Anyway I am glad to Luongo finally included in the squad officially !
