Cause I think most of us think he's past it at this level. Depth man, depth. We have gotten killed with lackluster depth over the years, how is this so hard to comprehend.
Signing Lobotka and Grealish would mean Mousa is the depth. Given that it wasn't that long ago that he was monstering Juventus, United and Arsenal, I'm cool with that.

I'm talking about CB, where everyone seems to be complacent with what we would have post Toby.

This is the kind of profile I used to get excited about. A player our scouting team has identified with the right profile and a chance to undercut the exorbitant fees tossed at players that any kid with a copy of FIFA/FM knows about.

However, after throwing 10-20m at a steady stream of these types of signings (Janssen, N'Koudou, N'Jie), I'm worried that English clubs are taxed so heavily that as soon as we open negotiations the price jumps 10x and we might as well have just spent 30-40 on a proven player.

Maybe I'm wrong.

How many teams have 3 first team CBs of the profile of Jan, Sanchez, and Dier? Then you have two legit prospects in CCV and Foyth. I think we replaced Toby last summer. I'd love to have another (and we'll need to replace Jan sooner than later given his age), but it's going to be hard to convince a first team quality player to come and be 4th choice CB.

It'll be interesting to see that, if we do sign him, he was a player Poch wanted and to see which way everyone gets to spin it.

Based on that nice write up from the Arsenal fan and the Youtube stuff he looks an interesting prospect.

Ah, ok. That depends entirely on whether Poch wants 3 or 4 at the back most of the time. If the latter, then 3 proven options (Vertonghen, Sánchez, Dier) with a highly rated cup-blooded youngster (Foyth) and a promising Academy player (Carter-Vickers) is a pretty standard grouping. If Poch wants a back 3 regularly then perhaps we would need to think about getting someone else in.

I mean its hard to judge the success of this transfer in isolation, id be dissappointed if it was only grealish and lobotka coming in this window but my experience with spurs tells me thatll be the outcome followed by a "we tried" with Martial

Edit: but should we land all 3 id be pretty content

You are like my Mrs, never satisfied ?

Joking aside, if you’d told us at the start of the window that it would be Toby out and Lobotka and Grealish in, nobody would’ve been satisfied. People are just desperate for signings now.

This guy looks like he might be a very good buy, but it’s too little too late unless we can bring some established quality in too.

I knew if we waited long enough we'd end up with some bang average yoke I've never heard of at a price acceptable to Rumpelstiltskin

If Lidl's did transfer windows.

You forgot the bit about loads of people claiming to know all about him and that he’s exactly what we need, following their extensive 5 min YouTube scouting mission and quick look at some passing stats (y).

This is what I expect too. Toby out for £60m, Graelish and someone like Sobtoka in for a combined £55m.

ZERO NET SPEND KLAXON :p

ManU (with Toby), Man City, & Chelsea. Liverpool probably feel they do as well, not that I agree with them.

So in conclusion all of our competition.
