Do like the look of him. The pressure in the PL is a different ball game though.

Does have great technique.

so he is more expensive than Grealish then.

I would be very confused if he was the Grealish alternative. Lobotka appears to play a lot deeper and his best attribute is he keeps things ticking where as Grealish plays further forward and makes things happen with a bit of flair and creativity.

Haven’t seen much of him but seems to be a decent player from his YouTube clips.

I guess one advantage of the UK window shutting sooner than the rest of Europe, is at least us buying players last minute still gives them 3 weeks to pick up a replacement. So they will be less reluctant to sell to us.

and since PL clubs usually have the most cash, if they wanna get max dollars they'll sell now

Good write up + videos on Lobotka from a Gooner who loves him :joyful:

https://pmanalytics.Wordpress.com/2018/05/31/stanislav-lobotka-celtas-star-midfielder/

1. Purchased last summer by CV for €5m. Quickly rose from bench player to starter. Value has greatly increased.

2. Plays most commonly as the deepest midfielder in a 4-3-3

3. Pretty short at 5’7” = low center of gravity

4. Technically excellent, incredibly strong in evading/breaking through a press, and tied-2nd best dribble completion rate in La Liga

5. His play is less about directly contributing to goals and more about possession protection and keeping momentum

6a. Strength: can pick out a pass in no time, usually progressing play

6b. Con: may pass too quickly, and may play teammates into trouble
Based on this - and only this because I’ve never seen him play - lobotka and rafinha would give us so much control as a 6 and an 8.
