Is it common knowledge that Stephen Ireland wore a wig last season? I only just found out. There are pictures of him in the papers today totally bald, claiming he had a transplant last year, but on a couple of other forums, they are saying he never had a transplant but started to wear a wig:). Am I the only person who didn't know this?

Yeah I'd heard it was a transplant, and all his team mates abused him for it so he didn't turn up to training

My mate has links with the City academy... i'm seeing him tonight... i'll try and get a definitive answer

Never knew that, but considering the amount of shaven headed footie players around, makes you wonder why he needed to cover it up. Does look a tit though

It's defintiely a wig. Hair transplants take 6 months to a year to develop. This is why people like Bono go for about a year of only being seen wearing hats. Ireland's hair apparently "grew" over the space of one weekend. Also, it just blatantly is a wig. Look at it!

Interesting.....anyone else think the first picture of Ireland looks like a transexual just before they put their wig on?

Stephen Ireland is a complete nutjob. Shame, cos he's a great player.

Maybe one of his Nans was paying for his transplants/wigs but stopped after he killed them off

I wouldn't say great but he's very decent. I think alongside the right player he could be good enough for a top four side, technically he is excellent but his size counts against him - he's a battler, but he needs a real warrior alongside him to fit in.

So that's where the bulk of Jo's fee went. This is far too funny.

And is that really true about Bono having hair transplants?

Thats a good wig if it is fake! Noone noticed for an entire season.

It is defintiely a wig. It's impossible to grow new hair over night. This is what a head looks like after a transplant:

There is no way he could have turned up for training, let alone played Premiership football, without people noticing the hundreds of little red dots on his head from where they've implanted new follicles. At the start of the season, he was very much going bald, then suddenly half way through it, he had a thick head of hair. It has to be a wig.
