Probably should have gone to prison for his "self defence" assault of a DJ. I personally don't think he is as good as Lampard to be honest..... certainly not to warrant the hard on the media seem to have for the prick. Can add hypocrite to his questionable character as well after all his moaning about diving.

He is being called Liverpool's greatest ever player

At his peak he was immense but Keegan and Dalglish were on a different level, probably Souness too

Premiership wise again not a patch on Scholes and Lampard

Hate how this has basically stolen the headlines over our thorough smashing of Chelsea.

All orchestrated by Liverpool lol. "Release the Gerrard news to piss of that Levy bloke"

Suits me fine if they nab the headlines and we can just keep going about our business.

As for Gerrard, a brilliant player no doubt but one dirty fucker on the pitch as well.

I don't trust the "won't join PL team as doesn't want to face Liverpool" comment.
Lampard said the same about leaving Chelsea.
All hollow words at the end of the day.
I can see Gerrard returning to England on loan in the winter months once the MLS season is over.

Good for them as a team unfortunately, he's been holding them back for years

Wondering if they'll re release 'candle in the wind' featuring all your Scouse favourites....Cilla, Jon Bishop, Lily Savage etc

"And it seems to me you lived your life

He could always join any European team that qualifies for the Champions League!

Better than Lampard for me. Not as good as Scholes.

Announcing this in January smacks of the usual pretentiousness that we've all grown to expect of Liverpool in the last 12 months however. As much as I can't stand United, Scholes (better player) and Giggs (more decorated player) both saw out their careers with understated class and minimal self-promotion or fanfare, from either themselves or their club.

Given the Scouse tendency to rewrite history their fans probably add a few POTY awards and League Titles to his CV between now and May.

See these two guys. Remember their names?

They have more league titles than Steven Gerrard.

And I know they were Gooners, but that's hilarious.

talksport has been replaced by the 'the steven gerrard tribute show' all sodding day...

It's been the Liverpool Show all week with Micky Quinn following Colin Murray. Is it any wonder the whole country were relieved Liverpool screwed up the title last season???

By some distance my favourite non-Spurs player in recent years. Certainly helped cover up the Scousers' collapse yesterday...

And RVP. Once you've played for Arsenal you're a Gooner for life.
Until they start struggling. Then you fk off to one of their bitter rivals lol.
