I felt a bit sorry for Matt, but I think the judges took into account that his training and ability as a gymnast, even though he gave it up when he was only 15, gave him a bit of an unfair advantage.

They opted for Kara's elegance and somewhat simpler routines in the end and marked accordingly. It seems the public thought the same.

She deserved to win on balance but Matt was superb too. I'm sure the voting must have been a close run thing. Good contest this year, especially after Wobbly Widdy left.
