This has probably been brought up before but with my less than adequate memory I need find out what people are thinking.

A lot of attention has been focused on our current strikers and who we should be going after in january and which we should sell.

Now that we have VDV in tandam with crouch(ie)(y) and defoe to come back , Super Pav also does a good job I am not so sure we really need to spend big money on yet another forward. We could and possible should even sell 1 , keane would be the one I would choose to go.

I really do think we should try and focus a big money transfer on another defender , yes we have lots of them but what we do not have is a stable and fit for most games world class defender that is in his prime.

So if I had a choice for a big money defender or a big money striker. My vote would go to getting in the defender.

No doubt I could be wrong but then with memory I will probably forget all about that and have another  :)

Striker most definitely. They're all OK, none of them are great though.

King, Dawson, Gallas, Kaboul, Bassong and Woodgate apparently on his way back is more than enough, how many centre backs do we need exactly?

I just want a truly world class cb , in his prime and playing week in week out. :)

and a truly world class cf of course.

Striker. Our defence is currently doing well even with injuries.

Don't forget, alongside all of our (injured) centre-backs, including Woody who is allegedly going to return, we are also supposedly signing this Khumalo fella from SA.

And the reports (greatly inflated, perhaps) are that 'Arry is giving Benzema the once over, so I am guessing a striker it is.

We should have plenty of cash as we didn't spend much in the Summer even though it was made clear that Levy would back 'Arry in a big money marquee striker signing. At the same time, the young lad Kane is getting rave reviews, so maybe we won't have to spend at all.

Definitely a striker. No question at all that it's the major weak link in our side.

I know we have a lot of injuries at the back - but Gallas, Dawson and hopefully Woodgate will be back and Corluka will find his form again. We've got an embarrassment of riches in defence IMO - 5 senior RBs, 6 senior CBs, 2 senior LBs and 2 CBs who can play LB at the top level (Gallas and Bassong).

After a striker, my only other signing would be a CM to compete with Palacios (i.e. replace Jenas) - ideally L. Diarra.

Striker.

Pav is a good player but if we want to be a team fighting for top spots in CL and PL he can't be our number 1 guy. He can't even be our number 2 guy. But like I said, he is a good player and is good to have around as 3rd or 4th choice.

Keane has long since lost his ways and needs to be sold.

Our strikers should be:

A: New Striker, Defoe, Crouch, Pav

or

B: New Stiker, New Striker, Defoe, Crouch.

Has to be a striker! Things at the back will look alot better when Dawson and Gallas are both fit.

We really need a clinical striker who is going to make the impact Van has made. Keane has gone and Pav and Crouch don't score enough in the league - 1 goal between this season to date.
