If we sell Pav and Keane what will we do for the Champs league?

Most decent strikers are cup tied?

VDV, Defoe & Crouch will do us fine.

Errr... no they won't. VDV yes, but Defoe and Crouch get found out against any team with a defence better than average.

The only time they ever score against good teams is when Bale runs 50 yards, does all the work and puts the ball on a plate for them.

This.

Also the only striker looking like he might be on his way is Keane so we will still have 3 pretty good strikers.

It's gonna go like this anyway... Crouchy knockdown, VdV scores etc etc

Crouch has to play all of our Champions League games or at least the away ones!

Andy, I reckon you have the highest percentage of threads started / post count (63/660) which is roughly 9.5%.

In response to your question, Keane is a non-issue, he doesn't play anyway. All the signs are pointing to the club not really wanting to force Pav out but we'll listen to offers. If we don't get a good offer, he'll stay.

Crouch is actually pretty good in Europe. That's why he seems to do well against Arsenal aswell. He's good against European styled centre backs. Our strikers have done well in Europe anyhow. Defoe against Twente. Crouch in the games he's played, even Pav!

Pav has 3 goals & 0 CL assists (in 233mins), Crouch 2 Goals & 3 CL assists (in 393mins) this season.

I would keep Crouch over Pav for Europe, great asset to the team.
Definitely need a new Striker though so we can be more consistent in the league.

Yeah, scoring a crap load of goals against Young Boys, Twente and the Jamaican international team makes him a top quality striker. We should tie him down to a new contract quick otherwise Barcelona might be after him...

Also, just in case it helps...

:duh:

47 games 23 goals in european club competitions,
42 games 22 goals for England.

You know the others so called top strikers out there also score many of their goals against lesser teams/players.

We definitely need someone for the future and to secure 4th this season,
but Crouch is more than good enough for our international games.
Foreign defenders clearly struggle to cope with Crouch.
