Just listed my west ham ticket as now cant afford travel from Devon. £57.00 as listed by stub hub which incl their fees (I put on as £50. face value £48). If it sells I get £44!. Cant see how these charges are fair to either buyer or seller. Anyhow, listed so it gives someone else a chance to go. Paxton block 19.

If this is successful it gives the club the perfect excuse to raise ticket prices even higher.

'How much will our fans be willing to spend? Let's check the StubHub average'...

The atmosphere at the Lane is shocking enough these days without the influx of rich day-trippers who just want to be 'entertained'.

I have been against Stubhub from the start and i emailed the club to complain about the high prices that some ST holders are charging meaning less true fans and empty seats etc etc. to their credit they got back to me quite quickly and expressed that the club and stubhub do monitor the prices - although i'm not sure how they could challenge them (i did suggest a capping system but that didn't gauge a response). One thing they did say is that the tickets at really high values are unlikely to sell and sellers can change the price of the ticket once its posted so keep checking back. So i did and on Tuesday morning i picked up a ticket for £55. Yes its a little more than face value but not much. I noticed the highest price yesterday had dropped from £750 to about £575 and checking now there is one on there now for £46. So 'normal' fans can still go.

I wanted to chime in here as over here in the states Stubhub is used for almost every show, game, and even parking to some events. Most of you are just going though the initial shock of ticket reselling but it's a great system at times. For huge events/games it is a disaster since the prices are way higher than anyone should pay. But for the lesser games you can sometimes get a ticket for under face, which I have done for numerous baseball/football games.

It takes a bit of getting used to and I can see where the problem lies here but this is the same reaction it got over here and then people adapted.

I was able to go see my basketball team (syracuse) in the final four last year, paid 360 USD (face was 180) for the semifinal and final. When they lost in the semifinal I was able to recoup 250 back on my ticket for the final, so I ended up paying face value for the game I did attend. It gives those people that are willing to pay the ability to go.

Mate, we're quite used to ticket reselling.

Before this season, we had a Ticket Exchange system that worked perfectly.

If you couldn't go to a particular game, you posted your seat for sale. If someone bought it, the transaction was conducted through the club. It was always sold at face value, with the club taking a 20% commission off the seller. That's absolutely fair.

No one was fleeced. Fan wasn't set against fan.

Much, much better than StubHub.

I don't understand the stub-hub bashing.
Its just capitalism at work. If you are too poor to watch a game then watch it on TV. Whats the fuss??

Capitalism at work?

Nope.

Not when there isn't a free market.

The club doesn't allow me to sell my ticket for profit outside the confines of StubHub.

It doesn't allow me to sell my ticket for face value outside the confines of StubHub.

It doesn't even allow me to sell my ticket for less than face value outside the confines of StubHub.

No......this isn't capitalism. It's scalping mixed with protectionism.

Does anyone know; if my granddad puts his senior citizen ticket on StubHub, can he only sell it to another senior citizen?

looks like it. Another problem with the system - previously when you sold to the club they could sell it to any buyer. As they have only sold the ticket at senior prices they're not going to allow a full paying adult to sit there

155 tickets to be sold at 1055hrs, all gone by 1059hrs. Mental. At least mine went for under face value.

There's no way all remaining tickets were sold in 4 minutes, certainly at the prices some 'fans' were asking. My guess is that StubHub stop selling tickets 5 hours before kick off so that the ticket office can have tickets ready for when the pick up starts 3 hours before kick off

Yes i think so.
I`ve got an obstructed view season ticket and can only sell it to someone else who wants an obstructed view.

This is correct, 5 hours before is the cut off point.

Something just came up and I can't make it today but Stub hub said I can't list my ticket as there are some in the box office. What is the point?

When did you try and list it? As others have said above they have a cut off when tickets can go up

Just now. I've just had some bad news and have to be elsewhere so I wanted to offload. Surely they should have the knowhow to let me get rid of it this late in the day. Seat will be empty now.
