Its amazing how much rubbish is provided by so called 'football journalists'. Anyone who reads Mediawatch on football365 will be well aware of the crap they come out with, but here are a couple 'transfer rumours' from the bbc gossip page that show they have no knowledge, no integrity, and no balls.

Dutch midfielder Orlando Engelaar is also a £6m target for Everton boss David Moyes. (Daily Mirror)

Hmm, hasnt he already agreed to join Schalke?

Former Chelsea assistant manager Henk Ten Cate could make a Premier League return as manager of Blackburn, despite agreeing to take over at Greek side Panathinaikos. (The Guardian)

So despite him signing a contract about a week ago, he could be at Blackburn?

Any other examples of absolute gutter journalism?

That second one is hardly poor journalism considering they've noted the fact that he's already agreed to join Panathinaikos...the story might not be true but it's not like the reporter has neglected to find out Ten Cate's plans.

As for the Mirror one, if you're going to get angry about a lack of quality journalism in the tabloids you might as well write in to the Beano and complain about how unrealistic it is for Dennis the Menace to own a talking dog.

I'm not talking about great insights or anything, but its like they start running out of ideas and have colomn inches to fill.

I'm not looking for insider info, massive exclusives or revelations, but to spend five minutes checking some facts would be nice, or at least checking if there are any facts that contradict their story.

Perhaps lazy journalism would be more appropriate

Can I ask why you are getting your knickers in a twist over the Daily Mirror? That newspaper has always been an example of lazy journalism. The only people that read the Mirror and believe what it says are people who should be stopped from breeding for the sake of mankind.

If you were talking about the Times' decline to lazy journalism or even the fall of the News of the World's good sports journalism once Murdoch got ahold of it then I would understand.
