Essentially a lot more money available next season to teams in both CL and EL, with a more even amount given to EL teams in the qualifying stages.

Personally I've been of the view that if we miss out on the top four I'd prefer to see us miss out on Europe altogether, but if there's more cash available it gives a lot more purpose to our last few games.

Would be very Spursy to miss out on the Europa League just as it becomes more lucrative.

Wouldn't be positive to miss out on the EL. We would probably lose chances to buy Ings to Lolpool and Saints. And better targets wouldnt be too affordable either.

I think we need the Europa League to give game time to the second string and more important to integrate guys like Dele Alli or Alex Pritchard.

Yes our performances after EL games arent always too good but you have to cope with it and the game vs Manchester United showed we can fuck it up even without games on Thursday.

It is a cup to be in. Win it and you are in the Champions League. Several more days of Spurs action on tv and some interesting european trips.

There is not much to say against it.

Apart from the awful and convoluted format designed to give CL drop-outs another chance of silverware.

Give you that think this is ridicoulous as well. But the positive points are way stronger in my opinion. Want my club to be in Europe.

It's the one thing holding the competition back these days.

Get rid of the drop-outs/round of 32, and it's an excellent competition with a lot of really good teams in it.

I don't care if there's no money, I want to see us in Europe every season.

I love going to the Lane on Thursday nights.

So much more fun and better atmospheres than all the old bloke cynicism and whinging you get at league matches.

Proper glory glory nights against exotic teams.

Seeing Lamela's rabona and Kane's first hattrick (and outing in goal).

Awesome

Can't beat the European floodlight nights at the lane.
Maybe the composition could do with a revamp.
No preliminaries, straight into 8 leagues with winner and runner-up going through to the last 16 as a KO competition.

With definitely no other teams entering at that stage.

I do agree but it's true that the competition is devalued by the CL dropouts joining the latter stages. Even so, we have a big squad and if anything it's a chance for the fringe players to get playing time.

I remember in the 90's we would pray for none of our players to pick up bookings so that we could get into the Intertoto cup through the fair play league, I'll never turn my nose up at automatic qualification after that, what a luxury! The genuine entitlement wankers are the ones who actually say they want us to lose though, sadly I've seen it a few times on here over the last few seasons.

would kane be where he is now without the europa league?

I honestly believe that if we'd missed out on EL qualification last season, Kane would have spent this season on loan at Crystal Palace or somewhere. Probably Mason too.

Being in Europa allows you to keep a squad of about 23 senior players, rather than a typical EPL 18.

Am I right in thinking ig the FA Cup final is Arsenal vs Liverpool (as is likely) then it would take a pretty spectacular fuck up from us not to make it? (ie finish 8th).

Since we are a point behind Liverpool (who play Arsenal away) and have a good run in I think we should aim for 5th now to ensure less games are played when we do eventually make it

If you are a club with ambition then you have to accept being in Europe is part of that.

I just wish the league would sort out the way fixtures are managed so there was less conflict.

I personally think the Champions League should be JUST for Chamions. None of this 3rd and 4th billon.

The rest of the entitlement wankers including some from Fulham Broadway could go in one big knockout
pot run like the FA cup, single leg ties with fracking hundreds of them in it instead of the mini leages and make it exciting to watch again.

I agree with others that the CL drop outs spoil the competition. But if this didn't happen then there is no way they would give the EL winners a Champion's League spot. It is only intended to give CL regulars another chance.

I think we'll finish fifth and secure Europa League next season. I see the wind coming out of Liverpool sails now and they will focus on the FA Cup and Stevie G's glorious final game..

Lets see the likes of Pritchard, Delle Ali et al playing the group stages. If managed well I'm convinced Europa and League form can compliment each other.
