... Isn't Ings free now? Great work Sky.

Would it not only go to a tribunal if no fee is agreed for the player? If we bid and it's accepted it's basically stealing a march on Liverpool?

Though I would have thought the 12 million would include Trippier...

Not the big bustling striker, quite the opposite, but I think a great foil to work with Harry would be Luciano Vietto at Villarreal.Still developing but looks as if he could become a real talent

Oh and another La Liga name to throw in for consideration as a CM is Malaga's Camacho. He's looking a very decent player these days a nice balance of defensive and creative qualities combined with a good engine

How similar is he to Schneiderlin? I have a feeling we will go for him (we've been linked) and he has a juicy release clause for Levy as well.

That's a difficult question in some ways because although he is similar in qualities and strengths and I would say about both they are very complete players they look a bit different in how they play it. I think though the difference is more the difference between the PL and La Liga, the less intensity maybe makes Camacho look more a reactive tackler and harrier who reacts and gets amongst it whereas Snidey tends to be already amongst it more. I don't know if that makes any sense but the best way I can explain it

slow as hell, we need a pacey striker to complement kane, would prefer him though as an option over soldado for sure though

Well we do get a lot of corners and yet rarely make them count. Llorente is a powerful presence in the box and particularly in the air and I think Harry is best when he has some freedom to roam. I wouldn't have a problem with Llorente per se but if we only play one striker he's not going to get too much opportunity to make the most of any corners or crosses. At least a pacy striker capable of playing wide or central can play wide as one of the three behind Kane

It will be interesting to see what happens to our CM. We have a shitload of talent there, but maybe missing a more experienced leader.

At the moment we are there with:

Bentaleb, Mason, Alli, Winks, Carroll, Stambouli, Paulinho, Dembele, Onomah, Capoue, Holtby

A full 11 out of CMs. Holtby will be gone if Hamburg survives, Capoue and Paulinho should be out too. If we add someone like Schneiderlin/ Milner, there is even more competition. Will we go with Dembele and Stambouli as back up options or trying to promote Carroll/ Alli/ Winks/ Onomah?

Veljkovic as well.

Personally I'd be going to a 4-3-3, and then from that list:

Bentaleb, Mason, Alli, Winks, Carroll, Stambouli, Paulinho, Dembele, Onomah, Capoue, Holtby, Veljkovic

Then I'd be signing up a midfield anchorman. Not sure who at his point, Carrick would have been a smart addition before he signed a new contract.

So left with:

Anchor role - New signing, Veljkovic.
Passer/connector role - Bentaleb, Carroll, then Winks coming through as well.
Box to box role - Mason, Alli and Onomah coming through also.

Dembele I'd keep to bridge the gap between youth and experience for now. I'd look to be using him as a utility player, between the cm3 and the wide positions and often in big matches to absolutely pack the centre of the park and to aid ball retention.

Having said all that, I cant see it happening (4-3-3) and with a 4-2-3-1 I think we are definitely very heavy on numbers.

feghouli wouldn't be too bad of a shout, is he realistic do you think

bear in mind the Algerian connection with bentaleb
Feghouli is known as one of trouble makers in the valencia dressing room, so it would be a no from me

I would personally just loan Alli and Winks out for a season, they are both at the age where they need to be playing. Especially in winks case

That would leave us with 6 players or in a 4231 scenario 5 players for 2 positions

As for Dembele, its a tough one. Levy will want to sell imo as he has a hip injury which flares up very bad and keeping him just greatly reduces his value while he is still somewhat considered a top player and able to pass a medical

Awesome potential. May be out of our reach but I'd be dissappointed if we didn't at least try to get a player of his talent in.

Something tells me this is Levy's attempt to up Ings tribunal value for Liverpool. If they had to pay 12m because we were willing to pay that much it would be hilarious, and hopefully dent their transfer budget a good amount.

Would it be so funny if they did the same thing to us in the future?

Also, it wouldn't surprise me if, when Ings signed for Liverpool, Levy uses it to get Liverpool investigated for tapping up to give them a distraction pre-season, as it would be pretty obvious if Ings turned us down, that he must have spoken to someone else.
