Good news and bad news. The bad news is Winks and Wanyama will miss the game through injury. The good news is, so will Janssen.
I'd like everyone fit to give us the best chance. I haven't given up on Janssen, I agree he's no Harry Kane but who is?

Oh, it's just a joke. I haven't given up on him either, and I don't know who else we'd have on the bench.

Janssen isn't doing the business in terms of goals, and although I recognise that as a striker that simply isn't good enough atm, I actually really like seeing him play. His strength and movement, and ability to hold up the ball, really help the other players as it opens up space for Alli, Eriksen, Son etc. to run in to.

So I'll agree that he has been a disappointment, but he does bring a lot to the team. Not as much as we'd like, but still a decent contribution. Not saying he should start every game - just that he's not been a total disaster and can still work well in a team

It's interesting that Lamela had his operation in Barcelona rather than in London. I wonder why that is: is it due to language or is the preferred surgeon there better than anyone available here? I can't understand why a member of our medical staff needs to be there: to do what?

Seeing as we are paying a pretty penny to have it done, then probably to make sure that everything is up to par.

Maybe I'm more cynical that most but I'd say it's more to see the extent of the damage / severity of the operation to help access whether it might be wise to sell him now while he still holds some currency.

I doubt they are in a position to do that, but I guess they should be available if any complications arise. Quite a number of clubs seem to send their players overseas. I wonder if the choice of Barcelona is due to Pochettino having lived there and having a preferred surgeon.
Maybe, this is the guy:

Would love the first one, I think we really need to go at them and having Janssen in there helps to prevent the others from being crowded out. I think we'll see one of those Eriksen far post crosses with Alli finishing from close range. Then a Son screamer for 2-0

As I originally come from that general area, I can tell you that the surgeons/facilities in Barcelona for those types of operations are the best in the world - THAT'S why.
