The final match of our post-season tour ended in the same fashion as so many of our games in 2014-15 with Harry Kane the match winner.

Despite being an end of season PR trip, the fact that only a week ago Spurs were still competing in the premier league meant this was going to be an interesting little tour.

A couple of positional experiments prior to the summer transfer market would help determine where our focus should be. Bentalab at LB proved he has continued in his development and has matured into a very valuable player for us. Whilst we obviously have two players for that position, if Coty throw around silly money for Rose Levy won't resist the urge I'm sure...

This match offered an opportunity to play Stambouli at CB without any consequences (unlike any match Spurs have been involved in over the final four months of the season) and he looked ok. Composed in possession, as you would expect, but against either pace, or strength he looked like he may struggle.

De Yeldin had a good day out. Started out very tentative, and was at fault for the square pass which played in Brosque who rounded Lloris only to have his shot saved on the line by super Jan... But with more playing time together hopefully Andros and him might develop a good understanding where when Andros steps over and cuts in, Andre has bombed on outside him... Creating chaos. Second half De Yeldin was much better even getting to the byline.

Dembele for me was the most disappointing. Against average opposition, he failed to stamp any authority on the first half, slowed down play when in possession, and got caught out losing shape when defending, where against a better side, would have left Mason exposed in CM by himself.

This leads me to the exciting part of the post... Harry Winks! Initially I was looking forward to watching Carroll ( our closest Modric like midfielder) but it was Winks who really captured the moment, and will almost certainly find himself featuring in pre-season. Great engine, agility and willingness to play in the middle of the park... Really impressive cameo, and that is not to say Carroll didn't have his moments, but Winks certainly stole the show for me.

Nothing really else to report on... Dier looked assured, and will be pushing next season for a start at CB, it will be interesting to see where that puts him compared with Wimmer... We will have to sell at least one CB you would think. COYS!

Paragraphs, might encourage more people
to get to the end of your interesting comments.
(...) doesn't do it visually.
Like your theoretical points re Yedlin and Townsend
but he might starve to death waiting for Andros firstly to see him
and secondly make the pass before the full back he beat half an hour ago
gets back to rob him of the ball.
Thought Winks was a bit lost in the first game but settled well in the end.
What a wealth of youngsters we have and Pritchard too.
Back of the sofa still providing riches
