KP is off home tonight though as Jessica is due to drop the sprog in the next 24hrs.
Apparently he'll be back ready for the Semi final should we make it through!
We need to avoid a heavy defeat to NZ but even if we do lose, providing Pakistan beat SA we go through!

well NZ were under the kosh but they've started scoring a bit more freely.

we were absolutely wank yesterday. terrible terrible batting display. bowling was good until the last 7 overs when we let them race on a bit. partly becasue Sanga wouldn't bowl Sana. and partly cause Menda spilled a catch of Cameron White who was the guy doing the damage. but the batting was dismal, too many of the top order were bounced out, skying the ball with thick edges
i don't get it, we have a player who is more use as a bowler than a batsman. So we put him in as opening bat and don't give him a single over of bowling. Insane captaincy!

Another great performance by England tonight, a real team effort!
By topping the group we should avoid the Aussies in the semi final. and though there are no easy teams left i'd rather we played the WI and get revenge for the rain/DL method affected debacle than the other form team.
Have to hold my hand up and congratulate Bresnan for his performance today, he batted very well and his bowling was effective....still don't think he should bat at 7 though :wink:

i hope Aus don't rest many players agasint WI because they're already through. if we and windies both win tomorrow they're bound to beat us on net run rate cause ours took a hammering against Aus. our game is 2nd so we will know if Aus win and then any win will do for us

lost the toss...i have a lot less faith in this team to chase totals. anything par or better.
3 changes to the team and still jayasuriya is in. i just don't get it, beginning to think it might be a protest by sanga at being forced to include him in the touring squad against his wishes. but surely he's not so petty to jeopardise our chances like that. if he bowls then fair enough, with murali injured and ajantha dropped, we could do with his canny spin. but he hasn't bowled in the last two matches.

barry - half, on my father's side. but entirely sri lankan when it comes to cricket
werty, no it's not. have to take more wickets to keep the runrate down. it's the only way in T20. unfortunately i really don't back us to chase a decentish total like this. sanath is deadweight in batting terms when we could have chandimal in, or even better tharanga who was in the original squad before the Sports Minister forced the selectors to take SJ instead. iamgine the uproar here if the govt altered fabio's selection

I want the WI as i think they will be easier to beat than India or Sri Lanka...though as i type Sri Lanka are less than 20 behind India so if the WI lose then we'll be playing Sri Lanka in the semi final!
