oh joy theres another player that we will loose for the african nations (if he is in the 1st team or even here by then)

although the competivness of a full international game could help him improve

I thought that Tarby had been called into the French Set Up by now?
He was being targeted last year...so unless they took his 'retartadtion' at WHL as being a bad sign.....he looked like the 'dogs bollox' if some reports were to be believed! COYS!

By the time he plays for them in the comp they'll have changed the date of the tourney to fall in line with FIFA's wishes.

well he only played about 5 mins for lens, they brought him on, then he got sent off, so I doubt he was anywere near a freanch call up, maybe U-19s, or U-20s but not U-21. Anyway the move has some good points (he will get international experiance) and some bad points (if he becomes a regular feature in the future he will go to the ACN wich aint helpfull)

He's since gone up in the World, joining AZ. Scored on his debut if I remember correctly, though don't quote me on that.

Class

Remember the commentators in that clip (from Eurosport) being utter garbage throughout the whole of the Peace Cup. El Hamdaoui was known as "Mido" for most of the above game, before someone obviously pointed it out. He was then "El Hamoud". Closer, but how 'Hamdaoui' could possible read as 'Hamoud' is beyond me.

I know, and Keane was onside...

also i believe Mounir scored twice in AZ's last game (away) he came off the bench at 2-1 down though so maybe not quite a started yet for Van Gaal's team. although after a winning double he may become a first choice.

he difinitely looks slimmer and/or taller, and he's cut off his stupid pony tail, to look like a nice respectable boy

anywho... I am looking forward to seeing tarby tonight against Scum stiffs on STV

Hang on if Taarabt is the next Zidane surely he would have been capped by France. Surely France wouldn't let such a talent escape there grasp.

"selected as a touch-line hugging, manicly stepping-over lunatic to confuse the opposition crowd and players"...was the full statement

He is French, and wont play for Morocco. He is in the French youth team and the moment, and he will rise in the French national ranks as he develops, and hopefully he will get some games for Tottenham which is more important!

Hopefully he'll get nowhere near our team for a long time if we are to be taken seriously. Currently he is a terrible player who is miles away from what we need.

bring him on as the 76th minute keane replacement in the next few games and lets see what happens..

i suspect not alot but , you never know!

play him that close to the other teams cb's and we may actually be entertained with goals and some weird celebrations

i suspect the coaches think he would hang on to the ball too much and get himself crocked, the knob.

taarabt speaks arabic very well..I've seen on show time arabia giving an interview in which he talked a lot about spurs and the EPL..he also mentioned that berbatov is desperate to leave the spurs to a UCL club despite the management's disagreement.

Without wanting this to descend into a history lesson or a rant the other side of the coin of foreign imports (or as many other countries see it as Foreign exports)

You have to take note that there has been a big sports media campaign/issue in Morocco in Moroccan/Moroccan-born/or of Moroccan descent players representing the bigger european nations.

Some of the ex-players have come up in the press saying that not enough is being done to encourage these foreign based players to represent Morocco rather than Holland, France, Belgium, Spain etc.

Personally, I find it gets quite frustrating seeing your countrymen who are supremely talented representing another nation.

Some fantastic players over the years in footballing history have represented teams other than the country of their origin.

Morocco have been one of the main victims of this. To name a few greats players have played for France and Spain respectfully

Larbi Ben Barek (One of the first stars of African Football - represented France)
Nayim (Yes, our Nayim who scored from the halfway line)
Just Fontaine (held the record for most goals scored in a single World Cup finals tournament, with thirteen before Ronaldo)

The latest batch of players would arguably make any country that bit stronger.

Otman Bakkal (PSV) Dutch U21
Adil Rami (Lille) French Seniors
Ismaïl Aissati (PSV) Dutch U21
Khalid Boulahrouz (Sevilla) Dutch Seniors
Ibrahim Afellay (PSV) Dutch Seniors
Maroune Fellaini (Standard Liege) Belgian Seniors
Ibrahim Maaroufi (Inter Milan)
Younes Kaboul (Spurs) French U21
Adel Taarabt (Spurs) French U19
Habib Bellaïd (Strasbourg) French U21
Yassin Moutaouakil (Charlton Ath) French U21
Karim El Mourabet (Nantes) French U21
Nordin Jbari (La Louviere) Belgian Seniors

Admittedly, most of you will not have heard of some of these players, but its surely an indication that if they are able to make the teams of the Spain, France, Holland, Belgium etc. Their presence is missed in the Moroccan teams.

Maybe the wrong place for the rant but who else would understand other than my fellow Spurs supporters.

.....I feel a bit better now

I get what you are saying and it's not that I am unsympathetic to the problem but, the players you have named above are all born in either France/Belgium/Holland and as such should firstly represent the country of their birth and not the one there parents or grandparents were born in. In my opinion I would only allow players to represent the country of birth and nothing else.

For example if I was talented enough (I am in no way talented enough) I could play for either Scotland the country of my birth or Ireland as I have family on my grandmothers side of the family that would make me eligible but, I would never, ever consider playing for an Irish national team as I wouldn't be representing my country, I would just feel wrong about it.
