Yup.....they made a fair chunk of cash off of weapons and weapons systems and currently own a couple companies that are tied very closely to the US government including one that is tasked with running customer service and automation of the IRS (the department responsible for taxing the American public).

So far we know that this group is supposedly "interested" in speaking with ENIC. Wanting to speak to a group (and not having done so thus far is important to note) and doing a takeover are VERY, VERY distant from each other.

So this could be nothing or this could be something......we genuinely have no idea at this point.

I know what my monies on!

Most of this speculation comes from Enic actively looking for affordable finance for the new stadium. Some of the bigger fish smell this as blood in the water!

Tottenham MP reveals discussions over Spurs takeover

Tottenham MP David Lammy has revealed that he has spoken with parties who are keen to buy Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Reports have suggested that US-based businessmen are interested in buying Spurs with Cain Hoy declaring an interest before withdrawing it a few weeks later.

The Labour MP revealed that he has spoken to prospective buyers who are interested in what his plans are for the constituency.

“All Tottenham fans will have seen the huge speculation about those who want to buy the club,” he told talkSPORT. “Some of the people have even knocked on my door and asked me [about whether they should by the club].

“The sort of questions they ask the local MP are about regeneration plans for the area, what the local authority are like to deal with and what is my vision [for the area].

“For all sorts of reasons Spurs would be a great club to buy. They are solvent and have great ambitions.

“It’s been run extremely well by Daniel Levy on the behalf of Joe Lewis.”

This process is probably not even close to the beginning stages though. Don't they need to publicly declare interest and start that whole process again that we went through when Cain Hoy was interested and we had to release numerous share holder statements?

This consortium isn't fronted by Del, Rodney, Uncle Albert, Boycie, Trigger and Mike from the Nag's Head is it?

If it is the Carlyle Group maybe they plan on building munitions in Enfield, like the good ol' days

House prices have boomed in London in the past few years and if there is a regeneration of the Tottenham area, then there is BIG money to be made.
The area is going to be more desirable to people with a few bob and they will start buying properties and pushing out the locals.
The landscape will totally change there in the next 5-10 years.
I would be shocked if really big investors were not looking to takeover Spurs.
I don't believe ENIC really want to build the stadium and they are simply going through the motions of making it look like they are moving ahead with the stadium while at the same time they are more than happy for Archway to drag them through the courts.

So long as we can end up with a bigger net spend on players than Burnley, i am all for it.

Two ways you can get a bigger net spend: be shit at identifying talent and so have a team worse, the same or only slightly better but make a big loss, or buy the best players in the world and fuck the cost. Personally I'd like to have a positive net spend, and have a better team.

I'm reading between the lines. Nothing here about THFC. This is about land, property & redevelopment and using THFC as a potential vehicle to achieve that.

I see there are still people justifying Enic by saying there better than sugar. And the other classic better the devil, Leeds, bla.

Lack of transparency, dof no dof, high ticket prices, awful pr.

More recently, no net spend, player trading not the filling of key gaps in team and squad, avb, Sherwood, league position falling, stubhub, Milton Keynes... Come on?

achieving par, Europa league, is ok but evidence over time not knee jerking suggests we are actually going backwards.

Time for someone else to have a shot.

I'm sorry, but evidence over time? The trend line of ENIC's 14 years in charge is still positive. You may be anti ENIC all you want, and I respect that, but if you fail to see all the positives they've brought to the club, I really can't take you seriously.

I do see the positives, but my opinion is that the negatives have begun to outweigh them. I don't want change for changes sake, but I don't think the evidence suggests ENIC are listening or learning.

Too many cooks on the football side, I want the coach to have much more control.

No credible explanation for MK, other than to build for less in one go which would improve their margin when they sell. I don't think the fans agree with this call and there needs to be more to even an investment company's performance in 2014 than bottom line, they have real responsibility to their major stakeholders, primarily the fans but also to the area they are so keen to regenerate.

So on balance I'd like to see someone else have a go.

I respect the views of the ENIC supporters. If you don't take other opinions seriously that's your lookout. Makes no difference to me.

I think everyone agrees that we're currently in a bit of a depression, but IMO it's too early to draw any conclusions. We may end this season with top 6 and a cup, and that is not what I call going backwards.
