although not in london i think his ideal prem club to join would be to partner torres at liverpool

Don't be fazed by the London thing, if Liverpool or any other club offer him enough money he'll go there, which probably means he'll end up at Newcastle!

A discussion? ... Must've been short.

Git 1: "So how about Henry going to Spurs"

Git 2: "Yeah, a pacey LWF, just what Spurs need"

Knowledgable Spursfan: "Fuck off. No Scum loving, money grabbing, has been will taint my club again after GG dipped in and screwed"

Read the title & thought that Ron Henry was coming out of retirement to help of at the back.

I won't even use that razor because the Gooner advertises it.

It was more of a hyperthetical discussion as to who would want and who could accomadate Henry should he return to the league.

Spurs were not the only club mentioned. Much of the discussion regarding Spurs was the lack of World Star players Spurs have signed i.e. players on the top tier of world football.

Whoever the presenter was claimed not since Gazza have we signed such a player.

He was then informed that both Lineker and Klinsmann were signed post Gazza which he conceded, although others text in Ginola, Keane and Berbatov to which he refuted as being good players and top players (at the time signed) but not 'marquee' players as he put it.

This is true even of Arsenal though, how many 'Marquee' players have they signed? Most of those types have not been the greatest success in EPL (Shivshenko, Ballack, Veron etc)

I know that AM. But would the board be shortsighted enough to think we'd want Henry?

As too marquee players being a success or failure in the EPL I think a lot depends on the coaches attitude. Sheva never suited the role upfront in a 4-5-1; Rebrov wanted balls to his feet; Ballack is performing he just needed time; Veron was expected to be a Scholes type player etc... Great players aren't all things to all people they are highly specialised. Henry - crap on the wing at Juve; legend upfront for Arsenal.

As to signing them at Spurs, can any team outside the top 4 say they have signed a wonder player. Before you say Owen at Newcastle remember he was crocked when they bought him. It was a huge risk.

Our board would never sign Henry, nor would he come to us its a non starter in reality (as with Ronaldhino imo).

I would say your correct in terms of Marquee players not looking outside the Top four or those who offer CL football. However I could see some exceptions being possible with teams who will throw huge wages around such as ManCity or Newcastle. (Owen for one)

If players are looking to move to England but for one reason or another the top four will not take them (as could be the case with Ronaldhino potentially) they may then move to a club such as those I mentioned who will pay them marquee wages.

We are on a level where we need to find good players and hope they develop into the top players (as we have with Berbatov and the scum have done with Fabregas for one)

Edit: I see now you accounted for Owen, just to say these are the situations that could lead to lack of interest from the top four... same with questions of Age and Desire/Attitude (Adriano/Ronaldhino) so while they are still marquee players by name and reputation there are question marks surrounding them which makes them a gamble the Top four probably wouldn't take (second tier marquee players I guess?)

1.) Would we as fans accept a former Arsenal legend?

2.) Would he be a good signing for us? (given his age etc),

3.) Would he sign for us? as a loyal goon and also us being a non CL team

1.) No. The arrogant tw@

2.) In terms of footballing quality only - Yes.

3.) Let's effin hope not.

Oh Dear, put this one to bed straight away, never gonna happen. World peace will be achieved first.

Speaking of beds - do you ever leave your bedroom (except popping around to your Uncle's place to work on your new entry for Robot Wars) ?

Honestly mate, that is the worst set of 'I've never had a girlfriend and would love to shag the 13 stone, hairy lipped girl across the road if I could pluck up the courage to speak to her' avatars and sigs I have ever seen.

If you're 18 years old seek help now. If you're 28 years old then it's probably too late

Henry has actually stated he'd never sign for us so there's not even the suggestion of a story here.
