Lloris

Walker
Dawson
Caulker
Vertonghen

Sandro
Dembele

Lennon
Dempsey
Bale

Defoe

Subs: Friedel, Naughton, Gallas, Livermore, Huddlestone, Carroll, Sigurdsson

Only real choice lies at CB IMO. Although Carroll coming in could be a consideration for some, I'd have him on the bench though and bring him on if needs be.

Looks about right to me...the only area that could be tinkered with is the back line:

Walker Dawson Caulker Vertonghan or
Walker Caulker Vertonghan Naughton or
Walker Gallas Caulker Vertonghan

Gallas seemed to be having A LOT of strapping on his hamstring/thigh on weds night so maybe he won't feature...

I'd keep the midfield as it was assuming Dembele and Sandro are fit. I'd also play Dempsey over Sigurdson for this one as he seems to be finding his feet and he knows how Fulham play...as long as he doesn't do an Ade that is!

Thankfully Adebayor will be back to lead the line after Fulham but the only changes, as robbiedee alluded to as well, would be at the back with Vertonghen back with Caulker and Naughton brought in at full back.

Will play Dempsey for this one as he will have a point to prove and will undoubtedly be fired up, although hopefully not to the Adebayor-Arsenal level.

Fitness will be an issue here and good substitutions at the right time I feel will be prevalent - on both sides.

I think it will that team you have suggested, have concerns though that Sandro and Dembele both looked cream crackered towards the end of the last game.

I have a nagging doubt that he'll play Gallas ahead of Dawson

I hope so. I'd rather Naughton at left back and Vertonghen into the middle, but anyone saying Dawson ahead of Gallas is doing so for sentimental reasons.

Gallas is slow and old, but clever. Daws is brave but slow and less clever.

I'm in the minority I guess, and don't see Willy playing for us next year, but he's gotta start ahead of Dawson.

I'm uncomfortable with Gallas at the back. He is/was the better defender. But is simply too slow. Two of them together trying to push out and play offside and a highline was embarrassing.
If Benny is back next week I hope to see Vertonghen paired with Caulker in the middle until Kabouls return.

If we're playing that 'holier than thou' game then...

Anyone who wants Naughton at left back is doing so for retarded reasons.

i agree with the bear, naughton at lb should be a last resort. i'm not fussed who starts between gallas and dawson. i suspect gallas won't do two games in three days so it'll be daws and caulks.

Their midfield is incredibly weak and we have the right combination of players for a 3-man midfield to exploit it:

------------------------- Lloris --------------------------
Walker ---- Caulker -------- Vertonghen ---Naughton
Carroll ------------ Sandro --------------- Dembele
Lennon --------------- Defoe ------------------ Bale

Naughton in the lineup as they seriously don't have anyone with pace that can make him uncomfortable with Kacaniklic and Ruiz out. Vertonghen and Caulker are the best pair of CBs we have, and in a way it can help take some of the running out of Verts legs. We completely boss them out of possession and Carroll gets his first PL start at a Cottage. It's kind of like a vacation.

Naughton is ok at LB but it's stupid really that we have no second choice left back and have to move one of the best CB's in the league out there. Granted he does a better job at LB than a lot of specialist lB's.
I think you have to start Dempsey in this one, it's a game he is guaranteed to score in.

i thought gallas was shocking on wednesday. really bad but dawson was just as worse at times.. that pass to liverpool player at one stage in second half was just absolutely shocking and sums him up in a second... for all his heart one mistake can really cost us... saying that we have no other option at moment so it has to be daws and caulker at center half..

really not sure what spurs will turn up on this one but the way avb is talking about tiredness and all that it really worries me and pisses me off too.. if they are feeling tired then at least save that excuse for after the game not before it for fucks sake..
