What is your proposal as an alternative, considering the (lack of) available options?

Not one of the slowest and most immobile players at the club. Davies couldn't play there when he was young. Now it would be pure cruelty.

It would have to be Emerson on the left, or you go more attacking and play Danjuma. Or kulusevski

There are loads of options and all of them are a better idea than Davies at LWB

Yes might well be a cracking idea. He's been woeful lately but we know he can dribble and has a great left foot, might be a master-stroke as a temp lwb

Play Kulu left wing back. Conte did say in the past that he could play in that position.
All the talk was that he could play rwb not lwb

but as things stand he’s a better backup to Perisic than any of the others.
Maybe you could try royal there because they’ve used both Perisic and Ashley young as right footed lwbs in the past.
Playing kulu there does at least keep him in the team whilst adding richarlison and danjuma, which I’d be in favour of

My XI

Forster
Tanganga Romero Lenglet
Porro Hojbjerg Sarr Perisic
Danjuma Kane Richarlison

Kulu & Son in bench. We go with some pace & power upfront. Tanganga played well in Romero absence. I would rather stick with him in RCB and move Romero to CCB - may be CCB role will keep him calmer a bit...and probably better suited to push up midfield if he has to win the balls

Forster
Romero - Dier - Lenglet
Porro - Sarr - Skipp - Hojbjerg - Davies
Kane - Richarlison
Two strikers against their back four keeps them pinned back, especially with Richarlison drifting over to the left. Their fullbacks have to stay at home or else leave their centre-backs one-on-one with Brazil and England’s starting strikers.

Three man midfield to match them for numbers. Skipp can mark Paqueta out of the game, while Hojbjerg and Sarr have a bit more licence to get forward and overload West Ham’s defence through the middle.

If we’re in control but can’t create chances, get Danjuma on for Davies.

I'd start danjuma for Davies and I'd go with that

All these people dropping Son and Perisic. I get the logic but have you considered who would then take the free kicks?

I hope Danjuma does play - I have been impressed by him - he reminds me of Dalmat - skill full and direct - hopefully he will stay longer than him….

True but I guess Conte hasn’t really seen him yet - he knows Son works when he is on it - Danjuma is the possible and Conte doesn’t seem to go for the possible…

The problem is that Son is very much the possible also right now. There has to be a time where you decide based off what you've seen rather than what can potentially happen, especially if that potential happening doesn't happen very often.

Would love to see Danjuma start to spark something into the front line.

I don’t disagree with that
