So I think now that Sanchez is out it will be as usual with the back four plus Lloris as GK obviously BUT Eriksen, Sissoko and Wanyama in the middle with Son, Llorente and Lucas

Fucking hammer them.

I would throw lamela from the start in this. Lucus would be a better threat coming on as a sub

No disrespect to Sanchez, but having the back 4 nailed on might be the best thing that could have happened to us.

foyth - sanchez - alderweireld - vertonghen
sissoko - wanyama
lucas - eriksen - dele
son

gazzaniga, trippier, rose, davies/dier, skipp, roles, llorente
Now after team news, and I guess we'd know if Roles was there, so Lamela in hopefully fit enough.

foyth - alderweireld - vertonghen - rose
sissoko - wanyama
lucas - eriksen - dele

That's already a better bench - Trippier, Davies, Lamela, Llorente could change the gameplan if it's all going pete tong. (yes, tripps with Llorente)

And while Foyth is more than capable of doing something stupid, one could argue that the one game he is likely to avoid that, would be the game after the one where he displayed the utmost stupidity to date. I can only speak from personal experience, but I find my own stupidity goes in swings and roundabouts :)
Not me. 24/7 :asshat:

We give the ball away enough as it is, let alone with Rose in midfield.

If Llorente starts I'll cry.
Sanchez is out so no worries there.
Trippier will start but I'd play Foyth at rb.
Sissoko. Wanyama who has looked slightly less shit compared to Dier (both been out for ages so to be expected).
Moura Eriksen Deli and Son up top please Bob.
I'm actually confident.
Fk knows why lol.
Even if we get knocked out we've had a fantastic run and finished top4 again which with the injuries, lack of transfers, Asian Cup and the stadium, is nothing short of miraculous.
Well done Spurs we're proud of you.
Now enjoy yourselves and see what happens. No pressure. Just play the game.
COYS.

I worry if this is going to be one of those important games that Poch decides to try something out of left field... (lest us not forget the Son at LWB debacle). Considering that, I wouldn't be surprised if he starts with Rose in midfield alongside Wanyama and Sissoko, with Eriksen at the tip of the diamond. With that hope that the aforementioned three can be disruptive and make it hard for the young ajax players to settle on the ball. In short, make it physical and bruising. My sense is that they don't like playing that way.

Start with the below formation... and if we get to the last 20 mins, with the game level, we perhaps let the likes of Lamela, Llorente and Dele out there to add more attacking options.

Lloris

Trippier
Toby
Jan
Davies

Sissy
Wanyama
Rose

Eriksen

Son
Moura

Subs: Dele, Lamela, Llorente, Foyth, Dier, KWP

I can't believe we will actually have options off the bench for the first time in an age. I would have both Llorente and lamela on the bench, two players who really could come on and have an impact, especially if we are chasing the game and Ajax sit back to defend a lead.

I was thinking the same but the more I think about it the more we can't risk a red card. As talented as he is it's just too much of risk.
That's like saying City should play Kompany at ACM on Sunday because he scored a screamer from 30 yards last night.

People do stupid/clever shit in football all the time, doesn't mean its going to be replicated every game.

No its really not. Foyth is a talented player but he's had quite a few rash moments now and the context is that he's a young player with not that much experience at this level.

Don't get that Kompany analogy at all ?
