Brad always plays the away tie in Europa games; and hasn't let us down yet. He needs some match practice (and tomorrow he is going to get plenty…)

TEAM NEWS: Tim Sherwood set to give Spurs young stars a chance at Benfica
TOTTENHAM boss Tim Sherwood could give starts to a number of the club's youngsters with Spurs facing a defensive crisis ahead of the Europa League last-16 second-leg at Benfica.

Defenders Michael Dawson, Vlad Chiriches, Younes Kaboul and Kyle Walker have not travelled due to injury.
And with Jan Vertonghen suspended for the clash at the Estadio da Luz, Sherwood has included young defenders Alexander McQueen, Milos Veljkovic, Dominic Ball and Connor Ogilvie in his squad.
Erik Lamela, Etienne Capoue and Mousa Dembele remain sidelined, while Emmanuel Adebayor and Paulinho also miss the trip to Portugal.
Sherwood also left regular Spurs stopper Hugo Lloris in London, meaning Brad Friedel is likely to start.
Tottenham provisional squad: Friedel, Archer, McGee, Naughton, A McQueen, Fryers, Rose, Ball, Ogilvie, Sandro, Chadli, Veljkovic, Eriksen, Winks, Sigurdsson, Bentaleb, Onomah, Lennon, Townsend, Kane, Soldado.

Yikes - 'throwing in the towel' springs to mind

I doubt they'll do much worse than some of our shower though. Some promising players there, I hope they don't take a pasting and lose confidence

So what do we think it looks like? Something like:

-------------------- Friedel

Naughton ---- Fryers ---- Veljkovic ------ Rose

------------ Sandro ------ Bentaleb

- Lennon/Town ------ Chadli/Sigi -------- Eriksen

------------------- Soldado

Personally I have little desire to watch Sigi and Chadli blunder round the pitch again, or watch the umpteenth Townsend/Lennon cross hit the first man.

I'd be in favour of giving the kids a go as honestly, at least giving them exposure might unearth a gem

Tottenham (4-5-1): Friedel; Naughton, Sandro, Veljkovic, Fryers; Lennon, Sigurdsson, Chadli, Eriksen, Townsend; Soldado

Anyone like the Telegraphs predicted team? Balls out attack

I like the idea of 'balls out attack', just not all of those 'balls' - some are a little clumsy and stupid

Does anyone else think they've just woken up in a parallel universe this morning?

We've given the Europa League priority all season, playing first team players knowing full well that they won't be at their best on Sunday.

Now Top 4 and Champions League is all but gone we play the kids!!!

My head hurts.....

(Ps....i know we have some injuries but still!)

So we've properly thrown in the towel then.

Thought Oduwa and Mcevoy would have been given a chance since we're taking a bunch of youths

Oh yeah, we're on ITV4, which means we stand the chance of going out of Europe to the dulcet tones of Clarke Carlisle. Can't they just wheel out a bit of Pleatism for the occasion? Give us a bit of Milos Velcro-itch or something.
