Anyone know why this one is on Sunday rather than Saturday when it isn't on British TV??

I think, as Burnley are quite fond of the 442, this actually is a game where we could apply the 3 at the back format.

Lloris
Dier---------TA--------------JV
Walker-------------------------------------------Rose
Wanyama
Winks---------------------Onomah
Eriksen
Kane
I think we all need a break from watching fumble****s like Alli, Sissoko and Son bounce and bumble there way round games like the balls on a fucking pin ball machine.

Poch wont ever drop Alli.

I heard somewhere that both clubs requested it be moved to Sunday so they could get more rest during such a busy period.

You would have thought that people would after all the shock results the Prem continues to churn out learn that you can't underestimate anyone in this division.

Playing a DM isn't about someone just sat there defending but it also allows the back 3 particularly Vertonghen and Dier the confidence to step into or carry the ball into midfield. It's these unpredictable moments of fluidity that most top team's have and will allow you to unlock a tight defence but you have to have a solid spine to provide cover and structure and with Wanyama there it does allow your wingbacks to play like wingers as if the ball gets played in behind them the right or left centreback can come across to cover and Wanyama can drop back to cover the gap.
all the reporting on Wednesday night's games has skewed this all massively. The full backs were no further forward in general than many other games this season or last season, and don't think it saw the CBS step up significantly more either. Both of these things happen in our 4-2-3-1.

The one thing it concsistently did was see us pull one further player behind the ball at all times and many times that was two players. A three at the back could work and be effective for us, but that wasn't the system for the long term, it was a way to show horn Dier and Wanyama into the same team.

I agree that our FBs are attack oriented for the most part no matter what formation. Whether it's two or three at the back it doesn't matter cause right now the FBs are our main route, our broadway and no matter what formation they are getting a lot of use.

In the NBA there is a usage stat on offense. Great players have high usage. They have the ball, they make the buckets, they are touching it the most.

In football we have touches, dribbles completed and so forth but no real usage stat. If there is please someone tell me. But my point is, it would be interesting to see the usage rate of Walker and rose with more than just touches. Because they start a lot of our attacks/they are getting involved the most.

Vorm Dier Wimmer Winks Alli Nkoudou Janssen
If Dembele is still injured, Winks in and Trippier on the bench. If Janssen is still injured then Onomah on the bench.

That's not how it looked to me. Both Rose and Walker spent most of the game further forward than usual. I'd love to see a heat map to compare their positions (I could be proved wrong). This then allowed Dier and Verts to play more like old fashioned fullbacks giving us effectively one centre half.
I think when sides have come and defended deep against us in recent years we have looked like we lacked width and this system helps with that. Both Rose and Walker got assists and gave us width in advanced positions. Then Eriksen, Kane, Sissoko and Dele all occupied the centre of the pitch meaning we had options in the box.
