Lloris

Walker Fazio Vertonghen Davies

Bentaleb
Mason Dembele

Lamela-----------------Eriksen

Kane

I was thinking about Stambouli for defensive cover but I actually haven't seen great defensive qualities from him if I'm honest. I see effort, but nothing special that makes him stand out in that role other than the fact that he's stronger in physique than other options there.
That's the team for me, dembele gives us a bit of muscle in midfield and will allow mason to concentrate on getting the ball forward - also, it should give eriksen the space to avoid Matic!

Lloris; Walker, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies; Capoue, Dembele, Eriksen; Lennon, Kane, Chadli.
Would love to see that side given a run out.

I understand why we played Chiriches at RB when we were playing against three strikers, but Chelsea only play one and Walker is a far better player.

MoPo went for it in the away game and blew it. Soton had exactly the right tactics for their home game.
This team is not ridiculous.
Well, obviously it's ridiculous but that's not the point.

I think there's a few guarantees. Walker will come back in at RB. Lamela will come back in for Townsend. Bentaleb will play if well.

Then it's a case of how much more shuffling Poch does.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Soldado play as he's played a grand total of about 65 minutes since the Swansea game and should be fresh. Therefore, Kane take Chadli's position.

I was just thinking about how painful it was last time out watching us start so well and then just get swatted aside. You're right that Soton were far cannier.

I'd pack the midfield, play pace out wide and try and hit them on the counter. We can't sit too deep though or they'll smother us .

Take your pick x 2.
Townsend Dembele Eriksen
Kane

Subs: Vorm, Rose, Dier, Centre Mid, Lamela, Chadli, Adebayor
Team selected assuming it will be a 4-2-3-1 as per usual. As it will be, no idea who you put in central midfield out of the options we have.

Sunderland, Newcastle and Southampton have given Chelsea hard games recently. Why can't Spurs? It comes down to organisation and desire.

Exactly. And Chelsea arn't exactly prolific, they're a well oiled machine and have no weak spots but you can definitely affect their flow if you get about them.

Hazard is obviously a massive threat, but its Fabregas we must not allow to control the game. He'll be the one orchestrating their slick attacks.

Stambouli did a good man-marking job on Rooney at Poch's request - might be worth him (or Bentaleb) doing similar for Fabregas. Only issue there is that we saw how that exacerbated how stretched our midfield was last time out, we'd definitely need a third man in it to provide cover.

Lloris - obviously
Vlad - playing better than Walker at the moment.
Fazio - Run and hide Costa.
Vertonghen - Pairing up well with Faz
Davies - Crucial to contain Ivanovic.
Stambouli - Track Fabregas.
Dembele - Physical presence in the middle.
Eriksen - Creative and works his nuts off
Lennon - Presses better than any other option and doesn't give the ball away for fun. RB will need help with Hazard.
Kane - Nailed on.
Townsend - Controversial, but would push Ivanovic back.
