Skipp limping off for the U21's...
So, we very well may be in the following situation by the time everyone is ‘back’.
3 players more or less are out for three games due to quarantine rules. Twos CBs and a midfielder.
4 players injured. Unclear how badly, but could be weeks , months, days. That’s two forwards. Our best midfielder so far. And Sess.

Gotta be some kind of record, right?

First team in PL history to have 7 players return and unable to play first game back.

Palace must be rubbing their hands together for this one. Chelsea even more so, as we will have little room for rotation in the Rennes game, unless Nuno decides to write that one off and play more of the kids.

God I hate the international breaks. Emphasis on ‘break’… as in, breaks our players!

Lloris

Tanganga - ----Dier ---- -- Davies
Emerson-------------------------------------- Reguilon
PEH ------------ Dele
Ndombele
Kane------------ Son

I know it wont go like this but this what I would love to see. Although there has been a lot of controversy with regards to Ndombele, I feel it in my water that he is going to come good eventually. (Says me hoping)

-----------------Lloris----------
---Tanganga-----Dier-----Davies
Emerson--Hojbjerg--Ndombele--Reguillon
-------Lucas--------Kane-----Alli

I know this is a controversial statement, but if we play this team, this is our most balanced team since 2018
Alli, always did better in LW and a free role without being burdened of being creative
Lucas, stretches play
Emerson and Reguillon bursting forward
Hojborg works hard whilst N'Dombele is a someone who can pass the ball forward
CB's comfortable to move ball quickly.
Kane dropping deep creates space for Alli making runs

Blimey, I’ve just realised we’ve still got Poland v England to come yet.

I hate bloody international breaks.

We don't yet know how many are just knocks and how many require more of a rehabilitation.

Worst case scenario as things stand today (whole slate of matches tomorrow), I would suggest the following:

Lloris, with three at the back (Tanganga, Dier, Davies), Doherty and Reguillon at wing back, Winks and Hojberg protecting the middle, Dele and Moura supporting Kane.

Unless Nuno sees something in Ndombele that merits a place on the bench, I would not be surprised if he was not included again. He has to earn it. If Nuno includes him, it has been earned. Others have committed and are putting in the work. It is a huge ask to throw in Emerson. He should be on the bench and should get time in the game at Palace, regardless. I just would not start him unless he has been brilliant in training. I would love to see one of Markanday or Lavinier get some time, not to mention Scarlett.

Gollini will probably be an un used sub for Italy, but we also could have Davies, Rodon and Paskotsi play a part in games today

With all the injuries sustained over the last couple of days plus GLC and Romeo quarantine, it's obvious hard to predict any outcome but I'll give it a go

Lloris
Doherty Tanganga Sanchez Dier Reggie
Moura Winks Hojbjerg Dele
Kane

Still some days away, doesn't mean we can not form some teams already. :sneaky:

Is it correct that Romero, GLC and Davinson will be out in qarantine? Oh dear.

Please can nobody ever start this thread the wrong side of internationals again ?

7 players from our last match day 20 are looking like they’ll be unavailable on Sunday. That’s nothing to do with the transfer window, that just horrendous luck. Even the sides with 2 superb xis would struggle with that. That’s over a 3rd of our apparent best selection of players who look like missing out. Horrendous.

With that in mind, I’m going to assume the very worst on all of them:

Lloris
Emerson Tanganga Dier Reguilón
Dele
Højbjerg Gil
Lucas _________ Clarke
Kane

Gollini Rodon Doherty Winks Ndombele John Bennett Markanday Scarlett

I think I'd even rather see Winks in place of Gil and Gil put further forward on the left before seeing Clarke start ?

Dele as holding CM? For a player that cant tackle you dont think thats a risk?

I’d bet any money Nuno starts Winks over Ndombele if Skipp out.

Gil to start if both Bergwijn and Son injured.

Hoping Harry comes through tonight uninjured. Bloody internationals!
