Wrong thread for this but its the inviting.of pressure and surrendering possesion that are causing far too many set pieces in dangerous positions in the first place. You cant give any team 40mins of play in your half and expect to keep a clean sheet. Conceding is inevitable imo.

True. Also, we can't control when ref's give soft fouls, so we still need to sharpen up our set piece defending.

Lask are our strongest opponent in the group, they beat a decent side in Sporting from portugal (team where ronaldo started his career). I think we will have a strong team for this as i dont think jose will risk it. 4 to 5 changes max. Dont be surprised to see Kane and Son start.

Since it’s a home game, I think Jose will put out a strong team and go for a high score to tell the other teams who ‘big daddy’ is in the group.

then he will rest some of our key players for one or two of the away legs against the weaker sides (especially if there are any big PL games either side of the EL fixtures).

Bale needs to play to get fit, but he clearly cannot last a complete game yet. He was gasping for breath after his little jig around the West Ham defenders. Jose said recently that Bale would not be fully match fit until late November.

Next game is on Monday, plenty of recovery time for anyone who plays. Would rather see a strong team out so we can get more used to playing together and work on team shape in this match. Only player I want to see on the bench is Kane but only so we can give vini a run out and get him integrated faster...we will need him fully up to speed in November.
