With squad that's available for Man City:
.................Lloris
Walker Kaboul Chichires Vert
..........Sandro Capoue
...............Paulinho
Lennon....................Townsend
...............Soldado

This game will be won in midfield! If we're over-run by Toure, Fernandinho, Nasri, Navas then we're in trouble. Keep it tight with Sandro and Capoue breaking up the play, then use Lennon and Townsend to counter attack.
If things are not going well and we need a goal i'd bring on Adebayor and Lamela for Lennon and Sandro, switching to 4-1-3-2.

4-1-3-2:
................Lloris
Walker Kaboul Chichires Vert
...............Capoue
Lamela......Paulinho......Townsend
...... Soldado......Adebayor

Unfortunately AVB will not drop Dawson and IMO he will struggle to handle the movement from Aguero.

He has been struggling this year, as has Nastasic (who I rate very highly). Zabaleta had 2 good games this year, against United and Everton. He has been committing some dumb fouls in other games, and has been getting caught out of position. I think he is the player to attack over Clichy. Put Lamela on him, and I bet he's cautioned within the first 30 minutes of the match.

Last thing Lamela needs, IMO, is to be put in the team at left wing. It's not his position at all. One of AVB's biggest mistakes against West Ham was to leave Townsend on the right and put Lamela on the left when he replaced Siggi.

Now Townsend against Zabaleta...........that would be a good plan.

Say Whaaaaatttt???

One of Lamela's best strengths is to be capable of playing in all 3 positions directly behind the striker. He is a trequartista turned winger/attacking mid. He played LW frequently at River Plate and Roma. He has actually likely played more time there than on the right wing.

He's completely wasted there, IMO.

Sorry bud but he has hardly played left wing, at River he started left but very quickly became the number 10 and was playing behind the striker and at Roma again he only played there a little at the beginning before being moved right with the intention of eventually being moved central again after Totti retires. His weakest position across the 3 is left wing and playing him they're doesn't do us and him any favours. Lamela's best position is behind the striker.

I like the look of that team other than Vlad at left back. He has no pedigree at left back as far as I'm aware. And isn't he right footed?

Rather keep Jan there until Rose is fit.

Am I the only one who'd like to see Chadli at some point? Has impressed me every time I've seen him, and more of a threat than Townsend imo....

He's had good glimpses, but I certainly wouldn't say he's impressed me every time. I think he has a lot more to offer than what he's previously shown though so I'm excited to see him fit and getting more minutes.

Playing City Away, AVB is going to use 2 holding midfielders in there, so not expecting Paulinho to push up like normal. Something like:

Lloris
Walker Chi Daws Verts
Paulinho Sandro
Towsend Holtby Lamela
Soldado

Pauline should be dropped. He's been lacklustre of late.

Bring Capoo in alongside Sandra, with Holtby City just in front. Llamala and Android on the flanks with Soldildo up tops.

Some of you really - Lennon, away at Man City? Behave.

Time has come for a three man midfield and shore up the middle of the park - possession of the ball will be king as we certainly don't want Man City getting a head of steam and when we do have possession, we need to have players who will use it wisely and with greater purpose than we've seen previously.

I wouldn't drop Paulinho as we need his skill set in making purposeful runs forward from midfield which should come easier to him with two other central midfielders than in a CM2.

Lloris

Walker Kaboul Chiriches Vertonghen

Sandro Capoue
Paulinho

Lamela Soldado Townsend

Think Pauline will be a good option provided we don't cramp the midfield with crappy inverted wing play and leave Holtby City (or whoever) and Pauline to do their jobs.
