For me there is no reason not to rotate as much as possible here. I can understand why Poch has played strong teams thus far, considering how tight the group has been, but having now secured a place in the knockout stage we absolutely need to give the likes of Kane, Dier, and Eriksen a rest. We were surprisingly lethargic today, which does not bode well with the holiday period on the horizon. The difference between winning the group and coming in second is not valuable enough to justify running our first XI into the ground any further.

With Bentaleb and Chadli nearly back in training at the end of last week hopefully we'll see them back in contention here, although it is probably too soon for either. Townsend seems to have gotten himself back in Poch's good graces, so I don't see why he shouldn't be brought back into the fold, even if only for the purpose of putting him in the shop window.

Lloris
Trippier Fazio Wimmer Davies
Winks Carroll
Townsend Onomah Clinton
Son

Subs: Vorm, Alderweireld, Bentaleb, Alli, Lamela, Chadli, Kane
Edit: Oops I see I was beaten to the punch, mods please merge this thread with the other.

Poch may well try and start solid and then change it up. I'd definitely rest some in this though.

I'd rest as many first team players as possible.

I don't care about winning the group. We're through - from this point on we'll need to beat difficult teams if we want to win it. If we finish second and end up losing to a group winner in the next round, it just shows we're not good enough.

Has to rest Kane and Dier here....surely we can afford to do that. Its not like we can't still field a strong team.

I want CCV to get game time, but it is impossible for him to start this year

Lloris
Tripper Belgian Wimmer Davies
Winks Alli
Njie Lamela Onomah
Son

But I think Poch will start 2 out 3 Dier/Kane/Eriksen

Actually you got there first by a minute, still no doubt they'll be merged.
I'm with you on the team though, we are through so why not rest the best and even try some new blood altogether, we have earned the right.
Edit: Actually I might be wrong about the timing, never mind though.

If we don't win the group, do we get drawn against the Champions League dropouts in the next round?

Like everyone so far - maximum rotation to give players a rest.

There's always a balance between team continuity and rotation and imo Poch has erred too much into continuity which is a significant factor in w we've drawn a number of games his season, notably Chelsea last week and (together with the weather and the ref) WBA today (tiredness accumulates over the season, s whilst we had no mid week game the tiredness is from playing twice a week too often ).

If Veljjkovic and the club have sorted things out I'd start him at CB, but if not Alderviereld might be the only outfield player who started against WBA that I'd start,

Lloris
Tripper, Veljkovic/lAlderweireld, Wimmer Davies
Carroll Winks
Townsend Onomah Clinton
Son

Vorm
Trippier-Fazio-Wimmer-Davies
Bentaleb-Winks
Townsend-Onomah-N'Jie
Son

Assuming Bentaleb is fit to start, of course.

Funnily enough I agree with OP. Only difference play Vorm, as we have qualified already. Main players need as much rest as possible, especially coming into the hectic Christmas period. Players are not machines. If nobody cannot see that I am astonished.

Full rotation, give players valuable minutes going into a busy period.

If we don't win the group, do we get drawn against the Champions League dropouts in the next round?

There'll be CL drop outs that are both seeded (4 teams with best record form group stages, Currently: PSV, Arsenal, Dynamo Kyiev and Valencia) and unseeded (4 teams with worst record from group stage. Currently: Shakthar Donetsk, Bayer Leverkusen ,Galatasaray and Bor.Mönchengladbach), so that will be somewhat more down to luck.

First of all we'll avoid the UEFA group winners if we finish winners ourselves,
however we might also be unlucky and get Dortmund or Fiorentina who might end 2nd in their UEFA group. While we could be lucky and draw Molde if we finish 2nd in our group.

Vorm
Trippier - Veljkovic - Wimmer - Davies
Winks - Carroll (c)
Townsend - Onomah - Clinton
Son

subs.
McGee, Walker, Vertonghen, Dembele, Alli, Lamela, Kane

Enough fire power on the bench to turn things if needed.
Bentaleb and Chadli havent started training with first team yet, so guess this is too early for them.
Give Veljkovic a taste, need him to commit to a new contract. Think he just need to see there's hope
