Since when was Onomah a center midfielder?

He certainly isn't a winger, where he's mostly been used so far. Playing him there would give him something else to step up to. Plus he clearly sees himself as a similar type of player.

The teenager appears to have leapfrogged out-of-favour Andros Townsend in the pecking order but faces stiff competition from the likes of Dembele and Christian Eriksen for a starting spot.

The Belgian has been on superb form this season and Onomah is impressed with him on and off the pitch.

"I’d say Mousa Dembele – he’s impressed me a lot this season both in and out of possession," Omomah told SpursTV when asked which team-mate he models his game on.

"Also, Chris Eriksen because he plays in that number 10 role and he gets lots of assists and goals.

"I look up to Mousa. He likes to beat players, tackle and get forward to score goals. Off the pitch he’s a good person, he’s friendly to me and we get on well."

He has played mainly No 10 when he has played for us this season

I don't think they can do anything to Lamela because twattenburg had a long chat with the lino so presumably they saw the incident and decided to take no action.

Assuming only Dembele is banned (aside from Alli).

Lloris
Walker, Vertonghen, Aldeireld, Rose
Dier, Mason
Lamela, Son, Eriksen
Kane

Subs : Vorm, Trippier, Davies, Wimmer, Carroll, Clinton, Chadli

On Call for bench duty if Alderweireld or Rose is injured still - Onomah, Winks

Hoping that half our team are not suspended, we can't play Carroll vs Wanyama, he would get overrun easily.

think he has been poor thats why
like to see clintons pace to give us something different

In a way, Son kind of replaced Alli perfectly. Alli spends a lot of the game doing fuck all only to crop up with a really crucial goal or assist. I love the kid and the passion he shows, but he tends to go missing a lot. Son's been pretty much that when he plays.

Bit worried if Jan and Wimmer have to play as both strongly left-footed....no balance at the back

Not liking the sound of Wanyama vs Carroll.

we're playing a football match, not arm wrestling. mason isn't exactly hulk himself either. bar dortmund carroll has been absolutely fine, in fact what usually happens is he starts, we play well, he goes off, we lose the lead/game and then everyone comes on afterwards and blames him for it.

So what's our bet on lamela?

What are the rules?

The rules were clarified and tightened up at the start of the 2013-14 season and now, according to the Football Association rule book, disciplinary chiefs will be able to consider retrospective action in the two following situations

* firstly, for acts of violent conduct that occur secondarily to a challenge for the ball;

* secondly, in off-the-ball incidents where one or more match official did see the incident but their view was such that none of them had the opportunity to make a decision on an act of misconduct that took place.

In the first case the match officials may not have seen anything at all so it will not be included in the match report - but an incident may subsequently flagged up by television coverage and the FA can initiate action.

In the second case, the referee or one of the linesman may have got a partial view of something but they were not certain as to exactly what had happened. In those circumstances they may include a reference to an incident in their report and request a review.

FA Director of Governance Darren Bailey explained the changes. “This enables The FA to consider acts of violent conduct, like an elbow or a stamp, which have occurred after a challenge for the ball or coming together of players.

“It is sometimes difficult for officials to see such incidents, as they are often concentrating solely on the challenge for possession of the ball, and we are mindful of this.

“Also, where off-the-ball incidents are concerned, it allows action to be taken where an act of misconduct could not have been seen by the match officials, even though they may have seen some part of the players coming together.

“This provides an appropriate level of discretion for The FA to consider action. However, we remain of the view that the best outcome is that referees are able to make correct judgements on the day to benefit the teams involved.”

Mason not Carroll, still thinking back to his powder puff from the edge of the box last night when he really should have done so much better... urgh.

Fuck I know right, saw that a few times and it kills me. How could you not hit that, Mason? Really let everyone down with that effort.

In the most knee jerk of fashion I instantly decided he must be sold in the summer after he missed that chance

In all seriousness, I like him, but I can't see him progressing beyond the level of Huddlestone and Livermore and I think he should go somewhere he can be a starter and we should replace with someone who can add suitable quality to the depth of our squad

I'm really not filled with confidence whenever I see Mason or Carrolls name on the team sheet. More so Carroll.

Lloris
Trippier Wimmer Vertonghen Davies
Onomah Dier
Son Lamela Eriksen
Kane

Subs: Vorm, Carter-Vickers, Winks, Chadli, Mason, Walker, N'Jie

A team capable of winning with the option of blooding Carter-Vickers and Winks for a stint and giving N'Jie a chance to come back. All assuming presumed injury and suspension.

IMO he'll get away with it, firstly the ref/lino can't have seen it otherwise he'd have been sent off.
Secondly I don't think he can be done retrospectively as I've yet to see any video replay that clearly shows he stood on his hand.
I'm pretty sure they can't ban him because it looked like he trod on Fabregas...they have to have conclusive video evidence, and if there was any then Sky would've been ramming it down everyone's throats, I'm sure of that.

Does anyone know when they'll make the announcement if we're getting our arses slapped?
