A nice away point but now we really could do with six points int he next two fixtures. Two very tough opponents but we are at home and a side wth loads of potential. Surprisingly, we have only one injury with Walker at this time (Rose maybe?). So lots of possibilites to choose.

Some need a game and a deserve one (Soldado, Kane, Fazio, Stambouli, Davies, Dier, Bentaleb, Vorm). Some could do with a game but space is limited (Dembele, Lennon, Townsend, Chiriches, Paul).

I honestly would prefer not to make too many changes again but can't help myself to make another 8-10 changes on Thursday.

My teams at this time for these games:

v Besiktas
---------------------Vorm------------------------
---Dier------Fazio------------Vertonghen--Davies--
------------Stambouli-------Dembele--------------
----Townsend----------------------Eriksen---------
----------------Kane------Soldado-----------------
Subs: Lloris, Naughton, Chiriches, Bentaleb, Paulinho, Lennon, Lamela

v Saints
---------------------Lloris-------------------------
--Naughton----Kaboul-----Vertonghen----Rose/ Davies-
--------------Capoue-----Mason--------------------
--xxx*--------------Lamela----------------Chadli----
--------------------Adebayor**---------------------

*= Eriksen, Townsend or Kane, whoever impresses on Thursday
**= I prefer Soldado but dont believe Poch will drop Ade.

Dembele might be unfit as well, that was the reason for his absence against Arsenal.
Think I'd keep him on the bench anyway, for impact. Same with Lennon.
Mason has played a lot for one week, have him on the bench in case we need his vision again.

Vorm
Dier - Fazio (c) - Chiriches - Davies
Bentaleb - Stambouli
Townsend - Paulinho - Kane
Soldado

Pick 1 striker ffs and give him a run of games.

Swapping isn't doing anyone any favours.

Big squad - this is the PL squad, the EL squad ois the same but omits Ceballos and Freidel.

GK - Hugo Lloris, Micael Vorm, Brad Friedel
FB - Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Kyle Naughton, , (and u21 Ben Davies)
CB -Younès Kaboul, Jan Vertonghen, Vlad Chiriches, Federico Fazio (and u21's Eric Dier, Milos Veljkovic)
CM - Paulinho, Benjamin Stambouli, Mousa Dembélé, Étienne Capoue, Ryan Mason (and u21 Nabil Bentaleb)
AM Aaron Lennon, Eric Lamela, Andros Townsend, Nacer Chadli, Christian Eriksen, Cristian Ceballos,
FWD Roberto Soldado, Emmanuel Adebayor (and u21 Harry Kane)

However I cannot see us changing the PL team that started against Arsenal for the match against Southampton - I think Poch may re-assess after that but will want two consecutive matches to evaluate. And again I think we'll play a different team against Besiktas as we have a large squad and need to keep all the players match fit (as poch has done for other EL matches). So there will be a few who don't make either starting X1 and start on the bemch.

Besiktas at home will be a tough match and we need to win all our home matches , so whilst I'd like a couple of kids on the bench for experience, I might have to settle for one (Milos Veljkovic). As we need to score, I think we probably need Kane playing alongside Soldado.

Besiktas (H)

Vorm
Dier , Fazio, Chiriches, Davies
Dembele , Stambouli
Townsend, Paulinho, Kane
Soldado

Subs : Lloris, Naughton, Veljkovic, Bentaleb, Lennon, Eriksen, Adebayor Inb. If Dembele is still injured, promote Bentaleb, and maybe Harry Winks on the bench)

Southampton

Lloris
Naughton, Kabou, Vertonghen, Rose/Davies
Mason, Capoue
Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli
Adebayor

Subs : 7 of the best performers in the EL squad or those on the bench who do not play in EL

Against Southampton:

-------------Lloris
Naughton---Kaboul---Verts---Rose
----------Capoue---Stambouli

---------------Mason
Lamela--------------------------Chadli
--------------Soldado

Eriksen off the bench to find a bit of magic and kick start his season, he will find his cracking form again soon. I'd love to see Mason in a freer role, Linking between Capoue and attack interchanging with the attackers and getting close to the striker...

Besiktas

Vorm

Dier Fazio Chiriches Davies

Stambouli Bentelab

Townsend Kane Lennon

Soldado

subs: Friedel, Naughton, Kaboul, Eriksen, Dembele, Paulinho, Adebayor

Southampton

Lloris

Naughton Kaboul Vertonghen Rose

Capoue Mason

Lamela -?- -Chadli

-?-

If any of the front four perform well enough against Besiktas they should be given the opportunity to displace Eriksen or Adebayor.

Besiktas will be strong, so we can't play a side that's too inexperienced, especially with their fans.

However Southampton is a massive game considering the games we have coming up soon, so I'm inclined to rest some players for that.

vs Besiktas
Vorm
Dier - Fazio - Chiriches - Davies
Stambouli - Bentaleb
Townsend - Paulinho - Kane
Ade
vs Southampton
Lloris
Naughton - Kaboul - Verts - Rose
Mason - Capoue
Chadli - Lamela - Eriksen
Soldado

I think a lot of us would like these two teams with ade coming off the bench to earn his position back, but is poch brave enough to drop him? I'd also be prepared to play kane behind soldado instead of eriksen in pl games and play eriksen instead of paulinho in europa to find his form.

My advice to Poch; If Dropping Ade forewarn him alone.
And maybe announce the team with him not present.

To avoid team spirit damagin tantrums.
