While your post made me chuckle, at the same time I do disagree. Its a great chance to get our players a winners medal & build confidence/winning mentality. There's not too many games needed to win it & while we haven't signed too many hit the ground running superstars, we do have lots of good quality in depth so can play really strong sides without risking many of the team for Sunday. If we got a kind draw in the quarters we could be in the semi's without really doing too much. It's also much needed game time for lamela, Chadli etc. Call me old fashioned but I do like a good old fashioned English cup tie. Even if it is the league cup or whatever name it goes by these days.Really

As far as i'm aware, Kaboul and Capoue are both due back in training this week but would imagine there will be a behind closed doors game for Capoue first before we even see sight of him on a match day squad. How long until Capoue and Rose are back and anyone know what the situation is with Kaboul?
Teams news will be interesting - no doubt Rose will be another week away. I thought he was back in training last week, if so - he should be involved for this one.
Absolutely can't wait until he comes back.
Success breeds success 'n all that.I want to agree, but ultimately win this and we're through to the quarter-finals. A favourable draw there and if we can progress I fancy ourselves against anyone over 2-legs.
I know it's only the League Cup, but for someone like me who has only ever seen Spurs win the League Cup, it still means a lot.
We just aren't privy to what the real extent of his injury is and how he ultimately feels as it's not an injury I want him to rush back from unnecessarily.I can't understand how Rose can be a perpetual week away, it speaks really badly of our medical staff that they can continuously get their estimates wrong!
re Spurs Official - both Capoue and Kaboul training and looks like Kaboul is in contention for Wednesday. As far as i'm aware, Kaboul and Capoue are both due back in training this week but would imagine there will be a behind closed doors game for Capoue first before we even see sight of him on a match day squad.
Rose is a bit more of a mystery - hopefully he'll be back this week too but wouldn't be surprised not to hear his name mentioned in reports.

Annoying yes, but then these timescales are bemoaned at all clubs and it certainly isn't unique to our medical staff.
I'd be tempted to rest Kaboul though mid week and utilise him at Goodison as he provides our best bet to counter the physicality that Lukaku possesses - much more so than Dawson, Verts or Chiriches.
Rose obviously isn't that quick a healer as some or that he keeps pushing it too hard too soon resulting in more set backs.I can't understand how each week they can look at the same injury and say "Oh yeah, yeah about another week I'd say!", surely they'd learn their lesson and say that it's not getting better therefore it could be a couple of months yet or whatever. Imagine if this were the building trade and each time the client asked for an estimate of how long the rest of the job would take the builder said it would be another week and he said the same thing six times in a row, you'd think he was either taking the piss, or incompetent.

Er, that's exactly what builders do. I was once kept waiting 6 months for a house to be completed after being told it would be one week.
