Dembele is good because he keeps the ball, but he seldom really creates or shoots to good effect. He dribbles all day across the width of the pitch and then back the same way and doesn't attack the centre. If we get a real creative midfielder, say Belhander, play the 3 of them together and we'll control the midfield as well as create goal opportunities.

In the 11 games since we drew 0-0 with Lazio we've scored 25 goals at an average of 2.27 goals a game, which over a 38 game season would be 86 goals, which would be 20 goals more than the best we ever achieved in the Harry era. That said, I agree it's a bit weird because it doesn't feel like we're any where near as potent as we were last year in an attacking sense!

The goals aren't as pretty as last year, but they are there. Last year was a lot of finesse where as now it is more power and pace.

Lloris
Walker Caulker Vertonghen BAE
Sandro Dembele
Lennon Dempsey Bale
Defoe

Subs: Friedel, Dawson/Gallas, Naughton, Parker, Carroll, Townsend, Sigurdsson.

I hope the team is that. Not too bothered whether Caulker, Gallas or Daws plays alongside Vertonghen though.

I would go with Dawson and Verts for this one....Harry will try and unsettle our defence so experience is important for this one...

Yes, he has dementia this season at times :ROFLMAO:

Gallas against SWP or Taarbat....not sure about that...think Dawson will hit them both harder and reduce them a bit

No don't think it would be a good idea. I think its sufficient for Parker/Sandro to play together to nullify him (Taarabt can't beat either of these). I think we need to score an early goal because QPR pitch is small and narrow so our wingers/counter attack will be less potent. I expect us to control the game with Dembele/Sandro/Parker in the middle. I want to see Dempsey come on at some point because I think its going to get scrappy and he is a lucky guy.

Aren't all Premiership pitches supposed to be the same size now?

Granero pulled his hammy yesterday, so is probably out barring some miraculous recovery. Good news, their best player IMO.

As I understood it, there was a range that they hit to fit within.

EDIT - I was wrong...

But they cannot change their pitch size if it is a physical impossibility?

Unless they start playing over the local park.

I don't think taking corners/throw ins from row 4 would be advisable...

i've concluded that andre will pick this team:

lloris
walker dawson vertonghen naughton
sandro dembele
lennon dempsey bale
defoe
subs: friedel, gallas, caulker, ekotto, parker, sigurdsson, townsend

Agree that this is AVB's most likely team. ......difficult to leave BAE out though!

Let's smash these guys. No reserve team nonsense like chelsea did. Go for the jugular first 20 minutes. With the pace in the side we should be able to shread their centre backs.

Harry hasn't been starting him anyway. They were appalling against pool even when he came on. They are the worst side I have seen this season and we simply need to play our usual away pressing game and we should destroy them.

I don't think he is any good. just does link-up play doesn't make anything happen.
I would prefer Taarabt if i was HR.

Taarabt plays off the forward, the number ten role - Granero should be used deeper in central midfield. He's easily their best passer of the ball, no coincidence they won when he came back into the side.
