I know this will prompt the usual defence mob but Parker is not good enough.

He was at fault for both goals and constantly gets in the way offensively.

Lennon------------Bale------------Siggurdson

Do we know when Kaboul is back? I know he got set back a tad but I thought it may before the end of the season

I'd rather not see him to be honest. Awesome player but I can't see how he'd fit in now, lack of match fitness, not having played in this system etc, also wouldn't be worth risking him I think. Just make sure he's raring to go next year, and give him the armband.

Lloris
Walker--Dawson--Vertonghen--BAE
Parker------Carroll
Lennon------Bale------Gylfi
Adebayor
Subs: Friedel, Caulker, Naughton, Dempsey, Holtby, Defoe, Dembele

I don't think we should chance Dembele from the start if he's not 100% fit

Anyone else getting nervous about this game, Bale looked exhausted today.

It's Stokes' last game of the season at home and their fans will demand a performance... Combine that with our terrible organisation at set pieces...

We need to press them, get in their faces and just destroy them.

Should romp them.

This, all the way. For me Holtby, although not been amazing, has shown that he closes down the opposition a lot and really works hard. With the way Parker is playing right now I'd put him in over him, I think he's looked better whenever playing a deeper role.

The only thing I'd change is Bale and Siggy swapping possibly. Bale was at his best earlier this season when Siggy was on the left. Siggy provided more cover for Ekotto as he's a very hard working player and it frees Bale up a bit. He's our biggest goalscoring threat so if he plays wide I'd prefer the right for him to come in and shoot, as on the left he won't be able to do it as much.

AVB said in the pre-match interview for tonight's game that he will be back for Stoke game... He's had a good week and bit off then so I would presume he will be near enough fully fit

PS - Stoke played a 4-3-3 the other day vs Sunderland (Adam, Whitehead and N'Zonzi in the middle). A midfield of Holtby, Hudd and Dembele can boss them.

Anyone in the middle thats not Parker or Huddlestone is fine with me.

As long as it's not Dempsey though. :cautious:

Would think Caulker likely to play v Stoke for set plays, that trend was set v West Ham last year, meaning Vertonghen left back. Think will be this: Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Caulker, Vertonghen; Parker, Huddlestone; Lennon, Bale, Sigurdsson; Adebayor.
Completely forgot about that, yeah AVB will almost definitely play Caulker which is understandable and I can't have any complaints. Just he's been sitting on the sidelines for month + now and not sure he's up to match speed/fitness. Hopefully he is.

I'm really hoping Parker sits this one out. He's constantly one of the weaker links on the pitch. Hudd was pretty poor today as well. Having Hudd available off the bench would be very beneficial should we find ourselves chasing a win late and needing that pass that can blow the top of the defense.

Let Bale tire mess with whoever they put at Left Back the first half and bring in Lennon
Defoe if need be
Carroll/Dempsey whatever the situation calls for.

If Dembele isn't fit, start either Huddlestone or Carroll and promote Dempsey to the bench.

Should romp them.

Think this is exactly the team that should play.

If Dembele is out then Parker comes in.

The only debate is whether Carroll could play instead of Holtby but I think Holtby's energy might be useful in a game like this.
