JJ showed enough 2nd half today for me to believe that Wilson and JJ will be a very strong central midfield pairing for us. The whole game seemed to pass Hudd by and he didn't seem to be able to get close to anybody in a red shirt.

I would have put Bentley on in the 2nd half when we were chasing, lenny was having no joy with Uniteds left sde so I would have switched him over and put Bentley on the right side because he doesn't need to go past anybody to deliver to Crouch.

When scholes got set off at least it evened it up to 10 a side and then when we took Keane off we realised we could have had 11 players on from the start.

He really is piss fucking poor and the duck in the first half to let Fletcher (I think) have a clear shot at goal was from where i was sitting pretty bloody disgraceful. he's obviously now terrified of the ball as well as human beings!

We will be far better with Gomes, Woody, JJ and Modric back, all 4 of them are big players for us and taking on UTD without any of them unsurprisingly proved too much.

Think it's a good thread, we all want spurs to be a great team and to say we weren't embarrassed when we lost 1 nil when they had 10 men would suggest you're easily pleased. United were one of the best teams in europe and they sold Ronaldo, Giggs has been one of the best players in the prem and is now 36. I want spurs to progress and am hoping for more than just getting through the season without being embarrassed. We're not Wolves or Bolton or portsmouth.

Because we were pushing for the equalizer and got hit on the break by a shit hot Rooney and whatever age Giggs is he was magnificent today.

Need a bit of realism in here sometimes

We're not shit because we lose 1 week and amazing the next because we win.

We're a good side. Man U are a great side, anyone that finishes above them in the league will win it:shrug:

I know what your saying, forget the football, Although disgraceful, United won the game with the harassment of the official tactic they employed as soon as the first goal was scored against them; unfortunately for us it was in the 1st minute! We scored to early, that what we done wrong today.

No they don't, instead the F.A should crack down on persistant offenders and remove weak officials.

They havn't cracked down on it in 17 years of Man U etc doing it and they never will. Unless we start getting at Ref's more we'll be on the wrong end of most decisions against the top sides

But it works:shrug:

What got my attention was how bloody hard the Utd players worked, they got at us and closed us down the whole game.
We were just beaten by the better side today too good to play with crucial players missing.

I'm not doubting that we where beaten by the better side today and i also agree that Utd did work bloody hard in closing us down and scored a fantastic free kick, but it still does'nt excuse the fact that, yet again, Utd benifitted from a major decision by a ref.

IMO the constant harassing of refs by the likes of Utd is something that needs to be looked at and eradicated by both the F.A and Fifa

For those of you questionning the substitution of Wilson and Gio not being on the bench, I suspect it has something to do with their long flight back from Mexico. They had a 16-17 hour flight with a change in the US and would not have arrived back until mid morning on Friday. They would also be jet-lagged from a 6 hour time difference. Hardly ideal preparation for such an important match.

Today confirmed what a lot of us have been posting for weeks - Modric and Palacios are essential to the way we play. Remove them and we are a shadow of the team. Our problems were magnified because Evra had Lennon in his pocket. Without Modric and Lennon, we quickly run out of ideas.

I suspect that we are going to struggle until Modric returns although at least Lennon will not run into full-backs as good as Evra every week.

I do think that Modric was a crucial miss today and with his creativity in midfield i think we may have gotten a draw from todays game.

lmfao, Keane has not made a tackle this season, ran round like a poof today arms flapping around, seriously what has happened to the MAN who knocked out Davids!

Unsubstantiated rumour and in all honesty highly unlikely to be true!

I think it was easier for Evra to mark Lennon today because we had nothing down the left. When Modric is worrying the oppo it creates space for Lennon. Today our only outlet was Lennon and so they could easily double up on him knowing we had a striker on the left. We need to pick someone instead of Keane on the left and then Harry will have to decide who partners Defoe

I think that if this game had been a couple of days later, then Harry might have started with Nicko, as it was, his selection was hampered by injuries and the international break.

.......that being hard off the pitch equates to being good at tackling on it??

That was my point, I don't think he is hard off it! I don't think he did Knock out Davids, if anything on his latest performances more likely Knocked one out over Davids!

Nothing to do with being a good tackler or not, he actually shows complete fear and cowardice towards receiving any sort of physical contact.

He is a complete and utter fucking wimp who would rather see the opposition score than take any sort of contact for the Tottenham cause!

The ref had Crouch in his pocket all game.

I don't know what's happened to Keano but he is fucking shit now.

Exactly, Fergie was leading the moaning from the bench very early on today. All to often the Utd players gave the ref a bashing for just about anything. Even Owen, when warming up in front of me in the second half, had a right go at the linesman for rightly calling a manure player offside.

He lives just up the road from me little s**t
